Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of preschool. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits are explained, the disadvantages—such as the claim that preschools focus only on academics and cause stress—are asserted rather than fully supported with specific examples or logical depth. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete illustrations or nuanced explanations for your points, rather than listing them briefly. The conclusion effectively summarizes the main points and provides a final recommendation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use a variety of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Apart from that', and 'Furthermore'. However, some of these transitions feel slightly mechanical or are used with minor errors, such as 'On the other' (which should be 'On the other hand'). Referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be smoother to avoid a repetitive structure. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the clarity of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'independent', 'financial burden', and 'social skills'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and unnatural collocations, such as 'juveniles' (which usually refers to legal offenders), 'sending them in primary school' (should be 'to'), and 'do their work by own' (should be 'on their own'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the precision required for higher bands. Focusing on learning common collocations and more academic synonyms will help improve your score in this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions ('in their earlier age' instead of 'at an early age'), article usage, and verb forms ('to sending them' instead of 'to send them'). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent, such as 'the stated point have' (should be 'has') and 'Preschool also offer' (should be 'offers'). These errors are noticeable but do not generally impede communication. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of infinitives and gerunds.
