Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now a days, many parents like to send their children in preschool early childhood, while others send when their children become able for primary school. The trend of pre school education is becoming increasingly popular, some people argue that it is beneficial while others reject this notion. The controversy has sparked the substantial influence of this trend over the potential impact in the recent years. In my opinion, the latter option seems to be more rational. This essay will further elaborate my point of view.
The first and foremost reason behind this is that a three to four year child is very small to send to school. Many experts say that early education must be at home by the parents. Furthermore, it is also beneficial for the mental and physical well being. They also emphasize that children are more confident when they go to school after five to six years. In addition, there are many examples of the developed nations, which send their children when they are old enough for primary education such as, Japan, Turkey and many other nations.
Probing further, it is not only the school education that is necessary but also ethical learning, social intelligence , and creativity which are significantly important in grooming children. These traits can be provided just at home by the parents.
On the other hand, preschool education is necessary only for those children whose both parents are working. This is more good for them to send their kids to preschool in good environment where they can learn and enjoy.
To recapitulate, it is mentioned that pre school educati

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of preschool. However, the development is uneven. While you mention the benefits of home-based learning and the necessity of preschool for working parents, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence. The mention of Japan and Turkey is a good attempt at providing examples, but it is not fully integrated into a clear argument regarding the 'advantages' of preschool. Furthermore, the conclusion is incomplete, which leaves the task partially addressed. To improve, ensure each body paragraph fully explores a point with a clear topic sentence, supporting explanation, and a concrete example, and always complete your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'In addition', and 'On the other hand'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression is hindered by the abrupt ending of the essay. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the phrase 'the latter option seems to be more rational' without a clear antecedent in the previous sentence. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph transitions smoothly into the next to create a more cohesive argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'controversy', 'rational', and 'developed nations'. However, there are instances of awkward word choice and collocation, such as 'send their children in preschool early childhood' (should be 'to preschool at an early age') and 'This is more good for them' (should be 'This is more beneficial'). There are also minor spelling and punctuation errors, such as 'Now a days' (nowadays) and 'pre school'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary, and ensure you proofread for basic spelling and word-form errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the fluency of the text. Examples include 'a three to four year child is very small' (should be 'a three-to-four-year-old child is too young'), 'early education must be at home by the parents' (passive voice usage is slightly awkward), and 'whose both parents are working' (should be 'whose parents are both working'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and commas. To improve, practice complex sentence forms like conditionals and relative clauses, and pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
