Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 162 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both advantages and disadvantages, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The conclusion is entirely missing, and the second body paragraph is incomplete, ending abruptly. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure a full structure including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a clear conclusion. The current length prevents a full discussion of the topic, leading to a low score for task achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand', which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is cut off, which disrupts the logical flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'if children join this time', which lacks a clear antecedent. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph is fully developed before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'debate-able issue' instead of 'debatable issue' and 'more older then' instead of 'older than'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To improve, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and work on correct word forms. For example, instead of 'do well in their study', use 'achieve academic success'. Expanding your range of synonyms and collocations will help you convey your arguments with greater clarity and sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'It is become debate-able issue' (incorrect verb tense/article usage) and 'if children put in school' (passive voice error). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often simple or contain errors in subject-verb agreement. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters after commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and the use of articles, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
