Student answer (Band 7.0)
It is irrefutable that numerous parents prefer to enroll their offsprings in preschool in early ages while others delay sending them for few more years. While early admission to preschool leads to healthier habits and holistic development of young ones, it may result in increased burden and weak family bondings.
Although there are a few advantages to this, the major one is that toddlers grasp everything quickly in early ages due to curiosity. When they partake in various activities at kindergarden, they can develop their motor skills and cognitive abilities. While communicating to teachers and co-students, they also learn new words which improves their linguistic abilities. Moreover, young learners adopt healthier hobbies such as reading, drawing or dancing and so on. As teachers give productive tasks to young people, they stay away from bad habits such as using electronic devices. Therefore, children become disciplined in their young age and utilise their leisure time productively.
On the other hand, burden of going to school may slow down the growth of youngsters. This is because, children's mind is not fully developed to keep learning multiple things in short time. When parents expect their little ones to perform better than others learners, young people feel stressed and it may hinder their growth. Furthermore, due to spending few hours at school, children cannot spend enough time with family members. Due to this, a lot of toddlers do not share strong bondings with their loved ones. Not only this have detrimental impact on psychological health of chilldren, but also it leads to widen generational gap. Hence, the weak family connections results in misundertandings in adulthood.
In conclusion, if the development of skills and useful habits are the benefits of starting school in early age, the increased mental stress and wider gap among generations are some drawbacks that cannot be neglected.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both advantages and disadvantages of early preschool attendance. The position is clear from the introduction and maintained throughout. Ideas are relevant and supported with examples, such as the development of motor skills and the potential for stress. However, some points, such as the claim that preschool leads to a 'wider generational gap,' are slightly over-generalized and could benefit from more nuanced explanation. Overall, the response is well-developed and meets the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central topic, and cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Therefore' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. While the flow is generally smooth, some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The use of referencing is mostly clear, though the connection between 'spending few hours at school' and the 'generational gap' could be more explicitly linked to ensure the reader follows the logic without effort. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the advantages and disadvantages.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is sufficient for the task and allows for some flexibility. You use some good collocations like 'holistic development,' 'cognitive abilities,' and 'detrimental impact.' However, there are some minor errors in word choice and form, such as 'offsprings' (the plural of offspring is offspring) and 'kindergarden' (spelled kindergarten). Additionally, 'weak family bondings' is slightly unnatural; 'weak family bonds' or 'strained family relationships' would be more precise. Despite these minor inaccuracies, the range is adequate to convey your meaning clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several error-free sentences, but some grammatical slips persist. For example, 'in early ages' should be 'at an early age,' and 'Not only this have detrimental impact' contains a subject-verb agreement error ('has') and a missing article ('a'). The phrase 'children's mind is' should be 'children's minds are.' While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, focus on consistent subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles with plural nouns.
