Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays. in this modern world evryone is living life by their own style. Some individuals thinks that people like parents they send their childrens to schools in a very early age of their life because they both are working outside for them and somewhere it is a beneficial thing for their children. However some people they believe children should be more mature so than they send them to primary school. Both type of parents are right it is all about how much time we can give them like some parents are not capable to give good education to children at home so preschool option is better.
On the one hand, the most popular advantage of sending them to preschool is both parents can work hard to fulfill their desires and basic needs. Some individuals they believe sending them to school is far better than always staying at home in a queit and boring environment. For example, if children are going out they will learn different games like football, cricket, by going school their confidence skills would be inhanced and it would be beneficial for their future education and different activities.
On the other hand, some people think that the disadvantge of sending them to pre school is they cannot spend time with their parents and elders and other family memebers which is also very important in this era. However, in some asian countries children have to face safety issues like harassment, some students try to body shame some children, so individuals like parents are not satisfied with these types of environment for their childrens which create a lot of stress for parents. For example, in some countries children are not getting education because of these type of fears and it would create a lot of problems for young generation in future.
In conclusion, some people believe that preschool is very important for children because some parents are working outside for them and it is also very important for their children and their future while some parents belive then they get mature enough send them to primary school. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of sending children to preschool at a young age. The student outlines reasons such as parents being able to work and children developing social skills, balanced against disadvantages like lack of family time and safety concerns in schools. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, and the position is occasionally obscured by loose phrasing and minor digressions into general parental habits. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the arguments remain somewhat superficial rather than fully extended and supported with deep analysis. This places the response comfortably at Band 5.5, moving towards Band 6 in terms of task coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs with an introduction, two body paragraphs covering advantages and disadvantages respectively, and a conclusion. However, cohesion at the sentence level is frequently faulty and mechanical. The student relies on repetitive linking phrases ('However', 'For example') and experiences referencing issues, such as pronoun confusion ('sending them', 'sending them to school'). Progression is evident but disjointed due to run-on sentences and punctuation errors, particularly in the opening paragraph where ideas bleed into one another without clear structural boundaries. Paragraphing is present and appropriate for the task, but overall logical flow suffers from weak transitional phrasing, warranting a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical resource is limited and displays noticeable errors that occasionally cause strain for the reader. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'beneficial', 'confidence skills', and 'harassment', but these are paired with frequent spelling and word-choice mistakes, including 'evryone', 'childrens', 'queit', and 'inhanced'. There is also a reliance on basic, repetitive vocabulary and awkward collocations like 'staying at home in a queit and boring environment'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the core arguments, the density of spelling and morphological errors prevents the response from achieving a higher band, making Band 5.0 an accurate reflection of this criteria.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, heavily dominated by simple and coordinate clauses linked by conjunctions. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to severe run-on sentences and comma splices, as seen in sentences like 'Some individuals thinks that people like parents they send their childrens to schools in a very early age of their life because they both are working outside for them and somewhere it is a beneficial thing for their children.' Frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('Some individuals thinks', 'it create'), pluralisation ('childrens'), and prepositions ('at a young age', 'by going school') persist throughout the text and frequently impede communication. Consequently, a Band 4.5 is appropriate.
