Student answer (Band 5.0)

Firstly I , talk about the Advantages of sending childern to preschool at a young age . Accoding to my perspective sending students at the age of three or four can help in shaping their minds. They can learn or can pick a lot of things and gain more knowledge about the little things. At this basic level base of their study is made and they can run thier minds too sharp. Childern can learn about manners that how to talk to their fellows and friends . Teachers can teach them ethics too. At such young age they can pick up things quickly and behave very nicely to thier elders either they are from the school, home or anyone from outside. Now, lets move towards the disadvantages. I can firmly belive on one thing in my entire life that excess of everything is bad . So, this young age can make it difficult for them to stay outside from home without parents at school. They meet many new students at school and all of them have different mind set. Some are rude in nature , some have a very sharp mind. At this age childern do not have maturity in nature. So, if someone is leading them at wrong pathway in school then they can always go on that line . Childern can adapt behaviour from their classmates. Sending childern at the age of three and four is not good in such sense beacuse of immature nature and also they starts weeping and make the environment uncomfortable. Futhermore , I will tell you an example of my cousin. She is 4 years old when she got admission in a school. she adopt some good habbits and also some bad habbits. like her way of speaking and conversation is very good but the bad thing she adapt is that she insists for each thing she wants even if her parents can not bought instantly at that time

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of sending children to preschool at a young age. The writer presents a clear position throughout the essay. Ideas are extended with some supporting explanations and personal examples, such as the mention of the writer's four-year-old cousin. However, some arguments tend to over-generalise or remain slightly under-developed, particularly regarding the negative behavioral impacts and the mechanisms of peer influence. The introduction is quite informal, addressing the reader directly in a conversational tone. Overall, the content is relevant and fulfills the core requirements of the prompt, placing it securely within the Band 6 territory.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible progression of ideas, moving clearly from the advantages to the disadvantages, and concluding with a relevant personal example. However, paragraphing is poorly handled; the entire response consists of one massive block of text with no clear paragraph breaks, except for a brief transition phrase. Cohesive devices are sometimes faulty, mechanical, or overly conversational, such as 'Now, lets move towards the disadvantages' and 'Futhermore , I will tell you'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and punctuation errors around conjunctions disrupt the flow. These limitations prevent the response from achieving a higher score in cohesion and paragraphing structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student displays an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully communicating ideas about childhood development, behaviors, and social skills. There are several attempts to use less common vocabulary and idiomatic concepts, such as 'shaping their minds', 'excess of everything is bad', and 'immature nature'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, including 'run thier minds too sharp', 'stay outside from home', and 'insists for each thing'. Additionally, there are frequent spelling errors such as 'childern', 'Accoding', 'thier', 'belive', 'beacuse', 'starts', 'Futhermore', 'habbits', and 'bought' instead of 'buy'. These lexical shortcomings place the response at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures ('So, if someone is leading them... then they can always go on that line') and relative clauses. However, grammatical accuracy is weak. There are frequent errors in article usage, preposition selection ('stay outside from home', 'at such young age'), verb forms ('she is 4 years old when she got admission', 'she starts weeping'), and subject-verb agreement. Punctuation is also problematic, marked by erratic spacing before commas and periods, and run-on sentences. While meaning is generally communicated despite these errors, the high frequency of grammatical slips keeps the score at Band 5.
