Student answer (Band 6.0)

Education plays a vital role in individual life. It is presented for consideration that some people prefer to send their children to preschool at early age while other parents prefer to grow children old enough to send primary schools. In my perspective, there are both advantages and disadvantages of the aforementioned notion which shall be elaborated upon presently.

First of all, going to preschool at early age provides children more exposure about the society which helps them to become more confident and social later in life. Secondly, the activities and games at preschool help children to perform better and learn things with easy ways.for instance, many research studies pointing that our brain learns most during our early age which results in easy learning about our culture and language. In addition, the kindergarden teachers can know about the children behaviour and provide them some emotional support.

On the other hand, there are some demerits of this trend as well. Some parents beleive that sending children at such a young age to school is not safe and they can take care better at home. Moreover, sending children to pre school at such age could cause parent children seperate stress in children mind. In addition, these preschools are very expensive and not everybody can afford it. For example, in my town, there is only one private preschool and they charge a lot of money every month just to take care of children which not every parents can afford.

In conclusion, the idea of sending children to preschool finds itself surrounded by controversy. From my standpoint, a balance approach where parents should send children to school at right age and government should provide some rebate or free government preshools should be better

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the question and give a relevant position in the conclusion: you favour an appropriate starting age and suggest public support for preschool. The advantages are supported with points about social confidence, learning and emotional support, while the disadvantages include safety, separation stress and cost. This covers the task well, and the local example of a costly private preschool makes the affordability point more concrete. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: the claim that early preschool improves later performance, for example, would benefit from a clearer explanation or a specific illustration. Your conclusion also introduces government provision without developing that proposal earlier. More balanced development and a consistently explicit position would strengthen the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. You also use examples in the relevant body paragraphs. At times, however, the linking feels formulaic because several points are introduced with “Secondly” or “In addition” rather than being connected through explanation. The relationship between the final recommendation and the earlier discussion could also be clearer. Use referencing and transitions that show how one idea follows from another, and ensure sentence boundaries are clearly marked.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “exposure,” “confident,” “emotional support,” “afford,” and “controversy,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “plays a vital role” and “from my standpoint.” However, several inaccurate or unnatural choices limit precision: “grow children old enough,” “learn things with easy ways,” and “parent children seperate stress” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “kindergarden,” “beleive,” and “preshools” also affect the impression of control. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling; a smaller set of well-controlled expressions would make the argument clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which helps them to become more confident” and a conditional-style recommendation in the conclusion. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “at early age” needs an article, and “many research studies pointing” lacks a finite verb. The sentence beginning “Moreover, sending children…” has an unclear grammatical construction around the separation stress, while the final sentence lacks a clear main-clause structure. Punctuation also needs attention, particularly the missing space and sentence boundary in “ways.for instance.” Practise building complete clauses and checking articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
