Some parents send their child to preschool as early as they are three or four, but some others prefer to wait for some time untill primary school to do so. Let's discuss.

The main advantage that I have seen with a child who has early exposure to preschool at an early age is that they tend to have good verbal communication. They communicate very well and tend to have a good vocabulary and pronunciation. Also, these kids have very good self-discipline, as they need to wake up very early and organise themself to attend school. The children who start early in preschool tend to do well in their studies as they learn to read and write at an early stage, which prepares them for primary school in advance. For parents, this helps in a way to fill their time with useful activity for the children while they have to work during the time they are sent to school, and they do not have to pay for daycare or hire someone to take care of the children.

The disadvantages are that a child who has been sent early to preschool tends to find education 'boring' and loses interest fast as they age. The syllabus, which is repetitive, makes them lose focus and interest as well. And in a way, I do believe that at that small age, they never get to experience childhood more at home with parents, as they need to be disciplined at such a young age. The child will still be in a diaper, and I do feel potty training will also be a challenging issue for teachers to handle because, at three to four, they are still in the learning process to adapt to everything.

I am a mother of three kids, and personally I prefer to send them early in the sense that I want my kids to enjoy much more playing and be pampered at home instead of pressuring them to adapt to the system of learning.I do understand that in the era where every parent is chasing each other's child to be 'smart', I tend not to send. My kids did adapt and manage discipline even when I prefred to send them at the later age of six.

In conclusion i trust that the choices we make dictates the life we lead, where looking back I feel what I decided back then not to send them earlier was worthit.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both advantages and disadvantages and give relevant reasons, including communication skills, preparation for primary school, parents’ work needs, possible loss of interest, and reduced time at home. Your personal experience as a mother also gives the response a clear, relevant perspective. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that early preschool makes children find education “boring” would be stronger with a specific explanation or example. Your position is also difficult to follow: you say you prefer early preschool, then explain that you chose to send your children later. Clarify your view and develop the less clear ideas so all parts of the discussion are addressed more evenly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, one on disadvantages, a personal example, and a conclusion. This makes the main discussion easy to identify. You also use basic linking expressions such as “Also,” “The disadvantages are,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression is sometimes weakened by abrupt or unclear connections. The personal paragraph shifts between preferring early preschool and choosing to send your children later, without clearly explaining the distinction. The conclusion repeats a general reflection rather than drawing together the two sides. Use clearer topic sentences and transitions, and make references such as “this” and “they” more precise to improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use adequate vocabulary for the topic, including “verbal communication,” “self-discipline,” “syllabus,” “potty training,” and “adapt to the system of learning.” These terms help convey relevant ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some wording is repetitive or imprecise, particularly repeated uses of “early,” “children,” and “tend to.” A few choices are awkward for an essay, such as “fill their time with useful activity” and “chasing each other’s child to be ‘smart’.” Spelling and word-form slips, including “untill,” “themself,” “prefred,” and “worthit,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated vocabulary while keeping the tone appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning “as,” “which,” and “because,” and most ideas remain understandable. There are some grammatical errors, however, in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “the choices we make dictates” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “they need to be disciplined” does not clearly match the singular “a child” in its sentence. The opening phrase “as early as they are three or four” is also awkwardly constructed. Punctuation and spacing need attention, especially the run-on ending and missing space in “learning.I.” Review agreement and pronoun reference, and proofread sentence boundaries to make your varied structures more controlled.
