Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this modern era, sending young ones to daycare at an early age has become a trend among families. However, some people are not ready to prepare their children for preschool until they turn four or five years old. It can be beneficial for young ones to go to daycare early, or it can have some drawbacks that are often overlooked. In this essay, both sides could be discussed with proper explanations.
The major advantage for children, if their guardian agrees to send them to preschool at an early age, is that they can easily indulge in outside environment. To elaborate, they may have a different environment at preschool, which they adopt early in their age. They could have a chance to meet new friends from different families and cultures that may have different styles of living and express their feelings. For instance, they can learn about distinct languages and different ways of eating and playing habits, which consequently leads to absorbing the environment at an early age that might totally differ from the home. Additionally, they can be more disciplined while they are behaving around others at daycare. It can help them learn how to talk politely, how to treat others well as they grow older, and even how to respect elders in their life. As a result, taking the early step of sending their children could be proven to be an informed decision for parents.
Nevertheless, the main disadvantage of doing this could be mental disturbance among children. It can happen that children may not feel well while they are sent to daycare at an early age. For instance, some children are not mentally prepared to go to daycare; they still need the presence of their parents around them, and as a result, they may feel lonely if their guardian forcefully sends them to preschool before they turn four or five. Moreover, this trend can put a burden on children at a young age. It is not possible for every child to adopt a new environment easily, particularly for those who are physically and mentally weak; therefore, this decision might feel heavy for these children.
In conclusion, although sending children at an early age can be beneficial from different perspectives and have positive results in their upcoming years, it requires proper consideration such as thinking about the child's ability first before making a decision on this topic.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view: early preschool can help children socially, but parents should consider each child’s readiness. The advantages are supported with examples such as meeting children from different backgrounds and learning to behave politely. The disadvantage is also relevant, particularly the possibility of loneliness or stress when a child is not ready to separate from parents. However, some points remain general or overlap: “adopt a new environment” and “absorb the environment” express similar ideas, while the claim that children become more disciplined could use a specific explanation or example. Develop the comparison more fully by explaining how these effects arise and why readiness may differ between children.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear four-paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to advantages, disadvantages and a conclusion. The contrastive opening of the third paragraph (“Nevertheless”) makes the shift easy to follow, and examples are generally placed beside the points they support. Linking expressions such as “To elaborate,” “For instance,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. At times, however, the progression within a paragraph is less precise: several sentences in the advantages paragraph repeat the idea of adapting to a different environment, and “this trend” in the disadvantages paragraph has a somewhat broad reference. To strengthen cohesion, group related points more tightly and use clearer references to the specific effect being discussed.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “disciplined,” “mentally prepared,” “burden,” and “distinct languages.” These choices allow you to discuss social development and emotional readiness, and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, but some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “indulge in outside environment,” “adopt early in their age,” and “different ways of eating and playing habits.” “Mental disturbance” is stronger and less natural than the likely intended meaning of emotional distress. Aim for more accurate collocations and avoid repeating “environment” when describing adjustment. More precise wording would make your ideas sound more fluent and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional clauses (“if their guardian agrees”) and subordinate clauses explaining causes and results. Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the conclusion is grammatically controlled. Some errors and awkward constructions remain. For example, “different ways of eating and playing habits” does not form a parallel grammatical structure, and “the child's ability first before making a decision” is an awkward construction in the final sentence. The sentence beginning “It can happen that children may not feel well” also combines two ways of expressing possibility. Revise these structures for clearer relationships between clauses, and check parallel forms when listing examples. Greater consistency in sentence construction would improve accuracy.
