Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, education plays a vital role is everyone's life. Many people argue that parents send their kids to school when they are old enough for primary school while others believe that children are send to preschool when they turn three or four years old. The essay will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of sending kids to preschool at a young age.
To begin with, one of the main reasons why parents send their children to preschool because it helps children to develop new skills, learn academic education and develop social interaction with their peers. This means that, children can develop their interest at an early age and help them connect to other children with different backgrounds. For example, in preschool, there are children from different cultures and backgrounds. As a result, they may become more confident and develop better social skills before primary school.
However, there are several disadvantages of sending kids to preschool. Children may feel isolated in preschool for long hour classes. In an early age, children needs parents care and emotional support for their mental well-being.Secondly, due to preschool long hour classes, it reduce the time of kids with parents. For example, preschool classes create distance between kids and parents. As a result, kids can feel alone and stress.
To conclude, I firmly believe that there are several advantages of preschool but disadvantages outweigh the benefits because kids have to spend their time with their family and parents to feel more comfortable and well-being.I think parents can teach their kids by their own for necessary education in early age.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and make your position clear in the conclusion: you acknowledge preschool’s benefits but argue that its disadvantages outweigh them. The benefits you identify—learning skills and interacting with children from different backgrounds—are relevant, as are your concerns about separation from parents and emotional well-being. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that preschool creates distance between children and parents would be stronger if you explained how reduced time together affects a child. The discussion also focuses mainly on social and emotional effects, with limited development of the educational benefits or circumstances in which early preschool may be helpful. Add specific explanations or examples to balance and extend these ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “To conclude” help readers identify each stage. This meets the lower-band expectations and shows some features of stronger organisation. To make the flow more natural, avoid relying on formulaic transitions and improve the links between claims and their explanations. For example, the move from long preschool hours to children feeling alone needs a clearer explanation. Some references, such as “This means that,” are also vague; state directly which preceding idea they refer to. More varied linking and clearer connections would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “social interaction,” “emotional support,” and “mental well-being.” The wording is generally understandable, but the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, particularly repeated references to “kids” and “preschool.” Some collocations are awkward, such as “learn academic education,” “long hour classes,” and “in an early age.” These choices make parts of the argument less natural, even though the intended meaning is usually clear. Aim for more precise phrases and vary key terms where appropriate. For example, you could describe preschool as supporting “early learning” and refer to “extended hours” or “time spent with family.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “why parents send their children to preschool” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” The overall meaning remains clear, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “one of the main reasons … because” needs a structure such as “one reason … is that”; “children are send” should be “children are sent”; and “it reduce” should be “it reduces.” There are also missing spaces after full stops and commas, and “children needs” shows a subject–verb agreement error. Check each sentence for a complete grammatical pattern, agreement, and punctuation, while continuing to practise varied sentence forms.
