Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response is only minimally focused on the question. It mentions preschool at ages three to four and gives a few possible disadvantages, such as reduced time for play and family activities, but it does not adequately discuss the advantages requested by the task. The ideas about cultural activities and a child’s “mindset” are difficult to connect clearly to the benefits or drawbacks of preschool, and there are no specific examples to support the points. The opening is framed as a personal message to Puja rather than an essay, which also weakens the response to the task. To improve, present both advantages and disadvantages directly, explain each with a clear reason, and support them with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into paragraphs, and the ideas generally remain related to early schooling. However, the progression is difficult to follow: the first paragraph begins with a personal greeting, then shifts to the essay topic, while the later paragraphs repeat concerns about childhood without developing a clear sequence of points. Linking phrases such as “because” and “also” are used, but connections between claims are often unclear, and references such as “this time” and “their” do not always make the meaning precise. A clearer structure would separate the advantages from the disadvantages, with one main idea explained in each paragraph and a focused conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “preschool,” “primary school,” “childhood,” “family,” and “cultural activity.” However, the range is repetitive, and several word choices or spellings make the message difficult to understand, such as “merrieage,” “preffer,” “brief idea,” and “serious mode.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “compromise with your baby mindset” and “baby schooling.” These issues fit a limited, basic vocabulary range and at times strain the reader’s understanding. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases, such as “early childhood education,” “social development,” and “structured learning,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writing shows attempts to form longer sentences using “because,” “if,” and “also,” but sentence structures are mostly uncontrolled, and errors frequently obscure relationships between ideas. For example, “some parent are send their chidren” has problems with subject–verb agreement and verb form, while “if some parent are bringinf their chind to preschool they will risk their childhood” has an unclear grammatical construction. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing apostrophes or full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence punctuation.
