Student answer (Band 5.5)
A few people send their off-springs to preschools in their early age, while others send children to primary schools at a particular age. I believe that it has both merits and demerits, if young one go to schools at the age of three or four years. I will discuss both views in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To commence with the cons of sending youngers to preschool, the first and foremost is that they feel huge pressure of studies , isolation from parents and become introvert. To explain this, during the initial stage of a child, they just need their family members around them but when they send to educational centres, they feel more pressure and isolation as it put negative impact on their overall development. Moreover, they are unable to share their feelings with others. According to a report of World Health Orgination, 34% juveniles felt stressed and unable to socialise with others. Hence, there are some disadvantages of preschool.
SHIFTING TOWARDS the pros, when they go schools at early age, they become independent, confident and develop new skills. To elaborate this, when someone starts learning in his initial years then that individual become more active to do tasks by himself as it helps to build his confidence level. Apart from this, they also adopt different skills such as communication, sharing and discipline. These things not only good for him but also for their family members. A survey conducted by Oxford university, in 2020, shows that 45% children became more independent and sharp minded by joining preschools.
To conclude, though there are some demerits of sending children to preschool when they are three or four years old, there marits cannot neglected like as they able to gain confidence and learn new skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both advantages and disadvantages and gives a clear overall view that preschool has benefits despite some drawbacks. The discussion is relevant: the disadvantages include pressure and separation from parents, while the benefits include independence, confidence and social skills. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that preschool can make children introverted is not clearly linked to the later point about difficulty sharing feelings, and the survey figures do not explain how the evidence supports the argument. The advantages are somewhat more clearly illustrated than the disadvantages. To strengthen the response, explain the effects of each point in more detail and use specific, credible examples rather than relying mainly on unsupported statistics.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on disadvantages, a paragraph on advantages and a conclusion. The progression from one side of the discussion to the other is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To commence with” and “Apart from this” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some ability to connect ideas. However, transitions are occasionally mechanical, particularly the all-capitalised “SHIFTING TOWARDS,” and several sentences within paragraphs read as separate claims rather than a smoothly developed chain of reasoning. The conclusion also repeats the main points without adding a clear synthesis. Use more natural transitions and make the links between each claim, explanation and example explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “isolation,” “overall development,” “independent,” “communication” and “discipline.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, but control is limited by noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form and spelling problems. Examples include “off-springs,” “youngers,” “marits,” and “World Health Orgination”; phrases such as “in their early age” and “sharp minded” are also unnatural in this context. Some expressions, including “huge pressure of studies,” are imprecise. These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the intended meaning, which limits the effectiveness of the vocabulary. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for education and child development, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay attempts both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “as” and “though.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but grammatical control is uneven, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer constructions. For instance, “if young one go to schools” has problems with article use and subject–verb agreement, while “when they send to educational centres” is missing a passive verb form. In “that individual become more active,” the verb does not agree with its subject, and the final sentence contains several errors in clause construction. Improve accuracy by checking subject–verb agreement, articles and complete verb phrases, then proofread longer sentences for clear clause structure and punctuation.
