Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, there has been a growing trend towards sending children to preschool at a very young age. This essay will examine both advantages and disadvantages of this trend before explaining why I believe this is a largely positive thought of parents.
On the one hand, there are certain benefits of sending children to the school at the age of three or four years. At this age, they can learn instantly whatever they see at their institution. They are immature and may not be able to critical think about vocabulary or any complicated situation. As a result, they learn things in a funny way despite having fear of right or wrong. Moreover, they can learn to live independently without being supervised. For example, A child can enjoy and make his own dicisions while playing in kindergarten without the interference of his parents. Therefore, they feel happy and it can give them a different environment form home and their surroundings.
On the other hand, there are certain drawbacks of primary school at a very young age. Children might feel alone at the school away from their parents and can feel stressed. In addition, they cannot focus on any sort of activities and might remain isolated. So, this isolation can negatively affect a child's physical and mental well-being.
In conclusion, although there are certain drawbacks of sending kids to the preschool at a young age, I believe the advantages of freedom from home and feeling of independency in decisions outweigh the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the question and state a clear overall view: preschool is “a largely positive” choice, with independence outweighing the drawbacks. The benefits of learning through play and experiencing a different environment are relevant, and you give a brief kindergarten example. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The disadvantages focus mainly on loneliness, stress and isolation, without explaining when these problems are likely or how they might be reduced. Some claims on the benefits, such as children learning “instantly,” are unclear or too broad. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and make the comparison between the benefits and drawbacks more explicit to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the direction of the discussion easy to follow. This logical arrangement is a strength. To make the progression more consistently smooth, connect ideas within paragraphs more precisely: for example, the link between learning through play and being free from fear of right or wrong is not fully explained. Some transitions, such as “As a result” and “Therefore,” introduce conclusions that do not clearly follow from the preceding point. Use referencing and linking words to show the exact relationship between ideas, rather than relying mainly on standard essay signposts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “independently,” “supervised,” “isolated,” and “well-being,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. There are also attempts to express ideas beyond basic statements. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “a positive thought of parents,” “learn instantly whatever they see,” and “freedom from home.” Spelling errors in “dicisions” and “form” also reduce accuracy. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less precise. Build a more reliable range of phrases for education and child development, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More natural alternatives would help you express your relevant ideas with greater clarity and flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “although” and a result clause introduced by “As a result.” Most of the main ideas remain understandable, but errors occur in sentence construction and grammatical patterns. For example, “may not be able to critical think” has an incorrect form after “to,” while “there are certain drawbacks of primary school” does not clearly express the intended relationship. There are also article and punctuation problems, such as “A child” after a comma and the missing space in “In addition, they.” Practise accurate infinitive patterns, articles and sentence boundaries, then proofread punctuation. Greater control would make your varied attempts clearer.
