Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You address the topic by giving a clear preference for preschool and mentioning possible benefits, such as becoming more prepared for school and participating in activities. However, the discussion is limited and does not explain the advantages and disadvantages in a balanced, well-supported way. The claim that children who start later are “lazy” is a broad generalisation, and the disadvantages of preschool itself are not really explored; instead, you describe problems you associate with waiting. The response also contains 216 words, which is 34 words below the required minimum; 39 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop both sides with reasons and a relevant example, and make your conclusion reflect that discussion rather than simply choosing one side.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a recognisable sequence: an opening, discussion of early and later school entry, and a final preference. You also use basic linking expressions such as “on other side,” “because,” and “after some time.” However, most of the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the advantages and disadvantages are difficult to distinguish. Ideas are often repeated—for example, that children who start later are lazy or do not participate—and the links between claims are sometimes unclear. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion. Within each paragraph, organise one main idea at a time and use clear references so the reader can follow how each reason supports your point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “preschool,” “primary school,” “participate,” and “sports,” so the reader can identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with “children,” “school,” “lazy,” and “sharp” appearing frequently. Several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unclear, such as “more concious in every type of game” and “take any type of participant.” Spelling errors, including “knowldge,” “Disadvanteges,” and “decission,” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise terms for early education and child development, and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe children as “better prepared” rather than “sharp to other childrens.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “because” and “before,” and some basic sentence meanings are understandable. However, sentence structures are mostly simple or run together, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “they want that at the age of five years they are able to go school” has an inaccurate clause pattern and missing article, while “some parents wait until enough age for school” lacks a clear grammatical construction. There are also problems with agreement and verb forms in “their children's are lazy” and “they didn't want to go school.” Use shorter, complete sentences first, then practise accurate complex clauses. Check articles, subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, and punctuation, especially where full stops should separate ideas.
