Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the two sides of the topic and give relevant examples, such as children learning to share and becoming more independent with feeding and toilet routines. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the advantages receive brief support, while the disadvantages are not clearly explained, and the final sentence about intellectual growth and communication is unfinished. Your own view is announced but never stated or supported. The response is also 127 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the discussion. To improve, explain at least one clear benefit and one drawback, state your position, and support each point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introduction is followed by paragraphs beginning “On the one side” and “On the other hand.” These signposts help the reader recognise that you intend to discuss contrasting views. However, the ideas do not progress into a complete discussion: the second side ends abruptly, and there is no conclusion to bring the comparison together. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “On the other hand, children who grow at home, they are…” where the repeated subject interrupts the sentence. Develop each paragraph around one main point, connect the explanation to an example, and finish with a short concluding paragraph.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “nurseries,” “sharing,” “patience,” “guidance,” and “communication skill.” These words show an attempt to discuss childcare and development rather than relying entirely on general language. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make parts difficult to understand, such as “good toilet trainer,” “pamper,” and “intelluctual growth.” Some phrases also sound unnatural, including “send their children in nurseries.” Build a more precise set of terms for early education and child development, and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe children as learning “to use the toilet independently” rather than calling them “toilet trainer.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple sentences and more developed structures, including “On the other hand, children who grow at home…” and the introductory contrast between parents who choose preschool and those who wait. However, control is inconsistent, and errors often make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “other wait,” “their children'age,” and “They became well trained,” where agreement, possessive form, and tense are not controlled. The sentence “Their intelluctual growth, communication skill” is incomplete, and “they are nuture” lacks a correct verb form. Practise complete subject–verb structures, consistent present tense, and accurate articles and plurals. Proofread each sentence to ensure it has a clear main verb.
