Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many parents are sending their three or four years old kids to montessori schools to make their children learn something. While, some parents ensures their children grows old enough before sending them to any preschool. There are various drawbacks and benefits regarding this notion. In the following essay I will discuss both pros and cons and form a reasoned conclusion.
To begin with, the primary advantage of sending kids to preschool is they can acquire valuable insights by being there for few hours. They start following the routine from day one which is highly beneficial in the world of work. Secondly, when they constantly allowed to play games in a team they will learn certain skills such as collaboration, communication and problem solving skills when they mingle with others. Thus, all this skills will be utilized when they work together with different people at workplace.
On the other hand, there are various drawbacks associated with this notion. Firstly, sending a child before there age will break the parents and child bond. This makes them feel nervous not only at home, but also in the school. Hence, they won't be able to focus on different activities in school. Secondly, they get too tired as they forced to miss there morning naps. Also, they are not old enough to follow all the rules and regulations which eventually makes them feel cranky sometimes. For instance, recent survey from united states convey that most of the children aged under four was not much active and feel nervous, due to the fact there nervous system is still developing.
In conclusion, although there are enormous benefits of sending children to school to gain some valuable skills which is again advantageous at workplace. However, it will inhibit the bond between parents and children which cannot be ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both advantages and disadvantages and gives a clear overall view that preschool can build useful skills but may affect the parent–child bond. Relevant benefits include learning routines and developing collaboration and communication; the drawbacks include tiredness and difficulty adjusting to rules. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between following a preschool routine and success in the workplace is broad, and the claim that early attendance breaks the parent–child bond needs clearer reasoning or a more specific example. The survey reference is also vague and does not clearly support the claim. Develop each main idea with a concrete explanation or example, and make the conclusion weigh the two sides more directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the discussion, and the main ideas generally progress logically. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger control. However, transitions can feel mechanical, and some links between claims are abrupt—for instance, the move from children’s tiredness to their difficulty following rules. There are also unclear references in phrases such as “all this skills,” which makes the connection to the earlier list less smooth. Use a wider range of natural linking methods and make relationships between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for discussing preschool and includes relevant terms such as “collaboration,” “communication,” “problem solving,” and “nervous system.” These choices allow the main points to be understood, and the writer attempts some more formal phrasing, including “drawbacks associated with this notion.” However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “acquire valuable insights by being there” and “before there age.” Repetition of “children,” “school,” and “skills” also limits flexibility, while “montessori schools” is narrower than the task’s general reference to preschool. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated vocabulary; for example, describe children as developing social skills through group play rather than “constantly allowed to play games in a team.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “when,” “which,” and “although,” and the overall meaning remains clear. Some sentences are controlled, such as “This makes them feel nervous not only at home, but also in the school.” However, there are some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and plurals: “some parents ensures,” “they can acquire … for few hours,” and “all this skills.” The final sentence also combines “although” with “however,” creating an awkward structure. Review subject–verb agreement and article use, and check each sentence for a complete, consistent grammatical pattern. More accurate control of these forms would strengthen the range already attempted.
