Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is a lot of factors that can give weather the children attend school at early age and also waiting them to be old enough to go to school.

Most children in our country attend school at early age beacuse parents wanted to expose thier children as early as possible in school. Once you sent your children as early as pre school (3 to 4) years old, they will addapt the sorrounding of being a pupil and soon enough they will be confident everthing around them. They can also meet a new friends and if they are already in school for a long period of time they can manage any situation they will face since they already encountered it before. On the other hand and in most cases, children will throw tantrums during first to 2 weeks by the time they will attend school at the young age. Some are not yet fullly ready to face other people and they tend to distract or make fight with other children. In my country Philippines, parents, specially the mother are very excited when the school starts to open. Although it is really hard for the teacher to discuss about the lesson but I can find it cute for the pupils. Its just okay if young children is not to it when it comes to the lesson since teacher teach them a basic lessons like how to identify alphabet and numbers. Also they have time to enjoy and play during their Physical Education subject.

Over all, young children are more advance if they attend school at early age. at the end of the day, parents will be the one to decide weather they will send their young once early at school or wait for the right time for them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic by discussing benefits such as adapting to school, gaining confidence and meeting other children, as well as difficulties including tantrums and not being ready to interact. The examples about preschool lessons and play in the Philippines help make the response relevant. However, the discussion is uneven: the advantages receive more explanation, while the disadvantages are briefly stated and not explored in terms of their effects or possible responses. The opening does not establish a clear position, and the conclusion mainly says parents must decide rather than summarising the balance of advantages and disadvantages. Develop both sides more fully and make your overall view clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an identifiable opening, a main discussion and a concluding paragraph, and phrases such as “On the other hand” signal a contrast. However, most ideas are placed in one long paragraph, so the progression from benefits to drawbacks and then to the local example is difficult to follow. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, including “Once you sent your children” and “Over all,” while the opening does not clearly introduce the direction of the discussion. Use separate paragraphs for the advantages and disadvantages, and connect each example directly to the point it supports. Clearer sequencing would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “confident,” “tantrums,” “pupil,” and “Physical Education,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts less clear, such as “beacuse,” “thier,” “addapt,” and “sorrounding.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, for example “manage any situation they will face” and “young children are more advance.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and use precise terms to describe social adjustment, readiness and early learning. This would make your ideas clearer and more effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain causes and results, for example, “Once you sent your children as early as pre school … they will addapt…” However, the response relies heavily on simple patterns, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors. Examples include “There is a lot of factors,” “parents wanted,” “they can manage any situation,” and “young children is not,” which show problems with agreement and verb forms. Articles, plurals and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “a new friends” and “a basic lessons.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise building accurate sentences with consistent tense and subject–verb agreement before adding complexity.
