Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You address the topic by identifying possible benefits of preschool, including social interaction, learning new things, and allowing parents to work. Your personal example about attending kindergarten also supports this side of the discussion. However, the task asks for both advantages and disadvantages, and the response gives almost no disadvantage; it also does not establish a clear, balanced position. The ideas are brief and often asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that preschool helps children become socially active is not developed with a specific explanation or example. The response is also 109 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to cover the task adequately. Develop both sides and explain each point with relevant detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening statement is followed by benefits, a personal example, and a concluding sentence. This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, the progression between ideas is not consistently clear, and the paragraphs do not develop distinct points. For instance, the opening contrasts parents who choose preschool with those who wait, but the response does not return to or explain that contrast. Linking words such as “however” appear without a clear opposing idea, and the final sentence repeats earlier benefits rather than drawing the discussion together. Use separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and connect each point explicitly to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “preschool,” “socially active,” “communication skill,” and “mentor.” These choices show an attempt to discuss children’s development and care, rather than relying entirely on very general language. However, the range is limited, and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “kindergardens,” “activitly,” “gaurdain,” and “witrh.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “be peace” and “other age group.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for benefits and drawbacks would also help you explain the topic more fully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, and the personal example shows an effort to describe a past experience. However, the range of sentence structures is very limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. For example, “few parents takes” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “children around three to four being in preschool will help them” is not formed as a complete, clear clause. The sentence beginning “when i used to be a kid” also runs several ideas together without clear grammatical links. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check tense and agreement in every sentence.
