Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response identifies both sides of the issue: preschool may help children develop interaction skills and problem-solving, while inadequate care could have negative effects. These are relevant starting points, but neither advantage nor disadvantage is explained or supported with an example. The response also stops after the incomplete phrase “when a kid is a,” so it does not develop a discussion or reach a conclusion. As a result, the task is addressed only minimally, and the reader cannot understand the writer’s full position. The required minimum of 250 words is not met; a complete response needs to discuss both benefits and drawbacks, explain why they matter, and include relevant support or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the topic, and “To begin with” signals the start of a supporting point. The contrast introduced by “However” also helps show that parents make different choices. However, the response ends mid-sentence, so there is no completed body paragraph, progression of ideas, or conclusion. The opening’s ideas are listed rather than connected through explanation, and “Although” is used in a sentence where the relationship between the clauses is not clearly formed. To improve, use separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, develop each point in a logical sequence, and finish with a brief concluding view.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response shows some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “preschool,” “tender age,” “interaction skills,” and “problem solving.” These choices make the general subject clear, and “merits” shows an attempt to use a more formal alternative to “advantages.” However, the range is narrow because the response is very short, and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward: “a increasing trend,” “a children,” and “strong interaction skills.” The spelling “thier” also reduces accuracy. Build a wider set of precise terms for early education and child development, and check common collocations and spelling. For example, “social skills” is more natural than “interaction skills” in this context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to use more than simple sentences, including a contrast with “However” and a clause beginning “Although.” The opening is generally understandable, but errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction are evident: “In contemporary world” needs an article, “a children” has incorrect number agreement, and “Although, it can be disastrous if proper care it not taken” contains faulty clause punctuation and a missing form of “be.” The final fragment, “when a kid is a,” is incomplete. Because the response is short, there is little evidence of a controlled range of structures. Practise accurate article use and subject–verb agreement, and proofread each sentence to ensure it is complete.
