Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the question, identifying social and learning benefits as well as stress and cost as disadvantages. The examples of group activities and children feeling pressure help make the discussion relevant. However, the ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained: for instance, you say preschool helps children’s brains develop and improves primary-school performance, but do not explain how or give a specific supporting example. The disadvantages also need fuller treatment, especially why a new environment may be stressful and what alternatives families have. Your conclusion gives a conditional view, but the overall position is not clearly established or developed. To strengthen the response, explain each main point and make your judgement about the balance of advantages and disadvantages clearer.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several linking expressions are repetitive or awkward, including “Furthermore, second benefit,” “In the result,” and “On the other hand.” The opening also uses “Although” without completing the contrast, while the final paragraph repeats the general idea of pros and cons rather than drawing the discussion together. Some references, such as “those children” and “for them,” are not fully precise. Use a clearer sequence of claim, explanation, and example in each body paragraph, and choose linking phrases that show the exact relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “communication,” “group activities,” “under pressure,” and “low income parents.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “fill very strange” for feeling uncomfortable or unfamiliar, “preschool not afford by low income parents,” and “impactful pros and cons.” Spelling errors such as “beiganing,” “sigenificant,” and “admitten” are also noticeable. Aim to learn common phrases for education and child development, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the same relevant ideas with greater clarity and naturalness.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some complex structures, such as “While others think…” and “Although…” clauses, and the reader can generally follow the main message. However, these attempts are often incomplete or inaccurate, and many sentences contain errors in basic grammar. For example, “This essay discuss” needs subject–verb agreement, while “their brain develop” and “children not fill” have incorrect verb forms. The opening “While others think…” is a fragment, and “Although” is used without a complete main clause. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise writing accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed clauses; check agreement, verb forms, and punctuation during revision.
