Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the question and give a clear preference in the conclusion: “I believe preschool is a good for children.” The advantages are relevant, including learning basic skills, creative thinking and receiving help from teachers; the disadvantages include children being very young and the cost to parents. However, these points are mostly listed rather than explained. For example, the claim that preschool helps children finish university and get a good job is not supported by a clear link or example, while the concerns about understanding lessons and carrying bags need more explanation. The opening also spends space on education generally instead of directly framing the preschool debate. Develop fewer points with reasons or examples, and make your position clearer throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages and a conclusion. “To begin with” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between the two sides, and the reader can generally follow the main ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often list-like, with “firstly,” “secondly” and “thirdly” introducing points that are not fully connected or explained. Some links are unclear, such as “when the children go to school in four years old then they are finish university study to time.” The conclusion repeats the general contrast rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and ensure each paragraph develops a central idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “preschool,” “primary school,” “creative thinking,” “teachers” and “fees,” so the subject is usually identifiable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several word choices or forms make meaning difficult to follow, such as “the school learn to child new things,” “medical issu faceing them” and “needy people do not give te fees.” There are also frequent spelling errors, including “sciene,” “humunties,” “neccessary” and “easliy.” These issues limit precision and sometimes strain the reader. Build accuracy with common education-related collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; for example, describe what children “learn at preschool” and say that families “cannot afford the fees.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the response includes some basic subordination, as in “because children are very small.” However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure and verb forms make several sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “Some parents want their children go to preschool,” “Other parents want their children are go to primary school,” and “when the children go to school in four years old then they are finish university study to time.” Articles, agreement and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “the preschool is very important” and the run-on opening “Education is a powerful weapon, you use it then you can change the world.” Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and simple complex sentences before adding more detail.
