Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is true statement, mostly food and drink products conains high levels of sugar. Although some might disagree because without sugar these products are be tasteless with this notion, I completely agree because with the help of sugar the taste of drinks like juice more effective. Not only because of taste, the children ate very interstly, but also because of the sugar more shops or bakery runs their business.

There are multiple benefits associated with topic. Firstly, with the help of glucose, the bakery items like biskets are more tastefull. The young generation also like sugary items because of good taste. Take an exampel of recent surveys conduting in London Univeristy students of food departments reserach that in London 73 percent of sales in bakey of the sugary products. Thus, point proven that the sugary product is benefical for the bakery owners.

Secondly, the children drink very happily any type of juice or products. For instance, when child is ill the doctor or mother gave the children sugary cyurp or tablet. Children ate happily, on the other hand if doctor gave the non-sugar talet, the children not ate.

Finally, the main benifits is that the bakery or shop owners runs their buiness because of sugary items. For exampel, take an example of United state, where 35 percent of total economy includes bakery items like cake, biskets.

To sum up, I believe that the taste of items, children ate happily bakey items and shop owners earns more money beacause of the sugar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to address the core of the prompt, which asks whether sugary products should be made more expensive to discourage consumption. Instead, you argue that sugar is beneficial because it improves taste and supports bakery businesses. By focusing on why sugar is good rather than debating the proposed tax or price increase, you have missed the main point of the task. While you take a position, the arguments provided do not directly answer the prompt's specific question regarding price regulation. To improve, ensure you carefully analyze the prompt to identify the specific action being debated and provide arguments that directly support or oppose that action.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is weak because the arguments do not clearly relate to the prompt. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Finally', but they are sometimes used mechanically or with grammatical errors (e.g., 'Thus, point proven'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the connection between sentences is often disjointed. To improve, focus on ensuring that each paragraph develops a single, clear idea that directly supports your thesis, and use linking words more naturally to connect your thoughts.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'biskets' (biscuits), 'tastefull' (tasty), 'cyurp' (syrup), and 'interstly' (interestingly). These errors sometimes make it difficult to understand your intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more sophisticated or precise language to express your ideas. To improve, practice using topic-specific vocabulary related to health, economics, and food production, and pay closer attention to the correct spelling and usage of common words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'products conains'), sentence structure (e.g., 'without sugar these products are be tasteless with this notion'), and article usage. You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors that distort the meaning. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles. Proofreading your work for these basic errors will significantly improve your score.
