Student answer (Band 5.0)
=> Significante number of health problems are caused by many manufactured food and drink products containing high level of sugar. Price of products containing sugar should be increased, which can encourage people to consume less sugar. I partially agree with the statement increased price will focus people to eat sugar in limited amount . However, sugar is also important for the human body.
Consuming sugar in a limited amount helps people to stay healthy and will keep them away from the problems faced by having high sugar level such as heart attack, breathing difficulties, liver damage. Stress is also the reason why sugar level in people start rising dramatically. For example, a study by World Health Organisation also called WHO finds out that 90% of the people with high sugar level are facing serious stress problems in their life. Increasing the price of products containing sugar is the best way to encourage people to stay away from sugar.
However, everthing is needed for the human body to work perfectly. Absence of even one substance can make human body inactive with the rise in sugar price a segment of society will not be able to afford it even if they could afford it they might not be able to affort the amount of sugar human body require to fuction completely. For example, a report from United State of America says that human body required minimum of 200 grams of sugar everday to be able to perform in its best shape.
In conclusion, there are many benifits of rising price of products containing sugar but its demerits cannot be ignored. Other ways should be made which can encourage people to eat sugar in a limit.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the proposed tax on sugary products. You present a clear position of partial agreement. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The argument regarding stress is not clearly linked to the effectiveness of a sugar tax, and the claim that the human body requires 200 grams of sugar daily is factually questionable and lacks a logical connection to the economic argument. While you address both sides of the issue, the supporting points are under-developed and rely on unsupported assertions, which limits the depth of your analysis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. For example, the transition between the health benefits of limiting sugar and the mention of stress is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However' and 'In conclusion', but they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately, such as starting the second paragraph with 'However' when it is not contrasting with the previous paragraph. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved for better logical connection.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'Significante', 'everthing', 'benifits', and 'affort'. You rely on basic vocabulary like 'good', 'problems', and 'best way'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific terms like 'manufactured food' and 'consume', the range is limited. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensuring accurate spelling, as the current errors occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Issues include missing articles (e.g., 'Price of products'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'human body required'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'will focus people to eat sugar in limited amount'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band.
