Student answer (Band 5.0)
As per my opinion, sugary products should not be made more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar.
Now a days, people can have the option to choose sugary product and zero sugar product as well. Also, there are some of the company who hold a good brand value or good will, try to always makes their manufactured food or drink in a level of sugar or other food chemicals by their research or country's food policy. According to Bangladeshi policy, the company can be only used in a certain level of sugar and others. So if anyone likes sugary product as per their taste bud, they can buy it as well. On the other hand, if someone dislike sugar so they can buy zero sugar product. everybody should check the ingredients of every product before buy. In addition, people are day by day increased their addiction to the manufactured food for time limitation. Specially in the morning, people takes various kind of drink to eat especially coffee for work. There are many super shops like Seven Eleven, Star Bucks where they serve instant coffee. So people can pick or order the coffee like their own choice where they can prefer no sugar or less sugar. So in my findings, there are no reason to make more expensive drink product for encourage people to consume less sugar. At the same time, there are some of the manufactured food like sweet or bakery item which contains more sugar, people can avoid it by their own choice.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the tax. However, the development of ideas is limited. The argument relies heavily on the idea of personal choice and existing market variety, but it lacks depth regarding the broader public health implications or the economic effectiveness of such a tax. The examples provided, such as mentioning specific coffee shops, are somewhat anecdotal and do not fully explore the complexity of the issue. To reach a higher band, you should provide more robust arguments, perhaps discussing the socio-economic impact or the potential for government intervention to improve public health outcomes beyond just individual responsibility.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, consisting of one large block of text. This makes it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'On the other hand', the flow between sentences is often mechanical or disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of logical paragraphing significantly hinders the overall coherence of the response. To improve, ensure you use clear topic sentences for each paragraph and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'good brand value' and 'food chemicals' are somewhat imprecise. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'people takes various kind of drink' and 'there are no reason'. You rely on a limited range of vocabulary, which prevents you from expressing your ideas with precision. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to health, economics, and consumer behavior, while paying closer attention to subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people takes', 'company can be only used'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain errors in complex construction, such as 'if someone dislike sugar so they can buy zero sugar product'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb forms and correct sentence construction will significantly improve your score.
