Student answer (Band 6.0)
Health problems are increasing in today's world. Many people are addicted to food and drink products that contain high levels of sugars thus leading to health issues. Some people argue that the price of these sugary items should be increased in order to encourage people for less consumption of less sugar. I agree with the same.
Most Sachet food and drink products have very low prices. It costs around 30-40rs. Therefore, it makes it easily accessible and affordable to every class of people. People who can't afford to buy vegetables or healthy food simply buys such unhealthy food. At the same times, teenagers are highly addicted to drinking soft drinks which have high proportions of sugar. Increasing price of such products will let people think before buying. The practice of ordering at random times without having a thought will stop. Slowly this will help them to detach with such products and might end up not ordering it.
Even if they buy at certain times they will still keep a track of it not because it is unhealthy but it is too expensive. Increase in price will lead to almost half the sales. For an instance, a youth who has a habit of eating packet foods and drinking coke everyday if wastes so much money on item will be questioned by parent regarding where the money are spent. Even if he continues buying item with the raised price for few weeks he will stop his practice in fear of his parents. This will lead to buying no products and so he will be indirectly encouraged to consume less sugar than before. Thus, leading to a healthier future. Reduction in customers will lead the manufacturers to stop the production as they might face loss. Slowly, item which deteriorate health will be not seen in market places thus people will start eating healthy and consume less sugar.
Apart from rising the price of products it is a responsibility of a citizen to make choices which benefits their health. One should know that these products negatively affect their health thus leading to life taking diseases such as diabetes, high sugar levels etc. Even government should step forward to check with the manufacturers to maintain a certain level of sugar level and not high sugar levels. Though, everything will be affective but the most affective step to encourage people for less consumption of sugar still lies in increasing the price of such items which might be toxic for health.
Thus, rising prices of products will encourage reduced buying which will lead to manufacturers understanding the need to produce something healthier and with less sugar levels. Thus, encourage people to consume less sugar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons, such as the affordability of unhealthy food and the potential for parental intervention, to support your argument. The ideas are extended, though some arguments, such as the claim that manufacturers will stop production entirely due to a reduction in customers, are slightly over-generalized. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more realistic and logically sound. Overall, the task is well-covered with a consistent viewpoint.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Therefore', 'At the same time', and 'Thus' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive, particularly the frequent use of 'Thus' at the start of sentences. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the progression between sentences is smoother, as some connections between the economic impact on manufacturers and the health benefits feel a bit abrupt.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accessible', 'proportion', 'deteriorate', and 'toxic'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'Sachet food' (likely meaning 'packaged' or 'processed'), 'life taking diseases' (should be 'life-threatening'), and 'most affective' (should be 'most effective'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise vocabulary usage. Expanding your range of collocations and checking word forms will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('people... simply buys'), incorrect preposition usage ('detach with'), and awkward phrasing ('where the money are spent'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some missing commas in complex sentences. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of errors is noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles and prepositions to ensure your writing is more accurate.
