Student answer (Band 5.0)
Actually i don't think so that this is a valid point because by increasing the amount of the product which contain high levels of sugar could resist people from intaking that food and dink. And after this there is also a valid point that made me totally disagree such as there are some people in the community which are short of sugar content and doctor prescribe them to take that food and drink to complete there need of sugar in their body.
And if you wanted to resist people from intaking these high sugar content then you need to reveal the disadvantages and effect of that exclusive content of intaking sugar on the body.
In my life there is many relevant examples such as there was a person who was very needy and could not able to purchase two times a day food. And he was very found in sugar and rather than eating food he purchase different food products which is very high content of sugar and when the rates of the product was very excessively increasing he start doing more hard work and did not got rid of purchasing that product and to stable the purchase he started to eat less meals and continues his intake of that high exclusive sugary product,
So. at the end there is only one conclusion of this matter which is that there should be awareness of the effects of that sugary product one or twice a day and there also should be different medical centers which help them to resist the use of thu

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against the proposed tax. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention medical needs for sugar and the potential for people to sacrifice other necessities to afford sugary products, these points are not fully explored or supported with clear, logical reasoning. The conclusion is incomplete, and the argument lacks the depth required for a higher band. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and provides a well-reasoned explanation followed by a concrete example, ensuring the argument remains focused throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. The paragraphing is inconsistent, and the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices, such as 'And after this' or 'So, at the end', they are used in a way that feels mechanical or unnatural. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences are often run-on or lack logical connectors. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nevertheless') and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'resist people from intaking' instead of 'discourage people from consuming', and 'very found in sugar' instead of 'fond of sugar'. Additionally, there are errors in collocation, such as 'exclusive content of intaking sugar'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more precise, academic terms and focus on correct collocations rather than relying on simple, everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there is many relevant examples'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'he start doing'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'Actually i don't think so that this is a valid point'). Punctuation is also problematic, with many run-on sentences and misused commas. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of complex sentence structures like relative clauses or conditional sentences.
