Student answer (Band 5.0)

sugary products have drastically took the place of healthy food as they are more affordable now a days and easier to get, while healthy food are less common in street food andf canteens. sugary products are the main cause of many health problems like obesity, high blood pressure and malnutrition. people are more prone to manufactured food as they are less esprensive than healthy versions and less time taking while there are almost no choice of restaurants with healthy food secilly the young youth tends to have junk food as they are almost out for study and to manage their rouine tyhey cant cook regularly. daily cooking costs them much expensive rather buying processed food and sugary drinks.

in my perspective raising prices for the sugary drinlks and packed food will eventually make a decline in their sales and improve the health but rising prices alone is not enough, authorities should work on developing alternativbes of this food with healthy versions. the college canteens should focus more on healthy drinks and fresh food rather then packed food. the authorities should also work on providing knowledge about the health diseases caused by this junk and unhealthy food.

opening healthy food stalls can be a positive step toward health care but we should also focus on the prices to make the healthy food more affordable so that people can easily access the products and nutrients their body needs.

taxation can also make a huge role in lessening the sales of manufactured food by increase.

personally, i prefer healthy food in my daily routine but cooking by ownslef in this busy routine of work and study, is a bigf hasytle so eventually i get tired and sometime take the packed food as it takes less time to get ready, and can be light on packet.likewise many people face this problem so if we find the healthy veron more affordable and easy to acces ,and the manufaced and sweet products more expensive, it will definitely encourage the society to rely on healthy food

in my conclusion there will be some people who will still buy sugray products as they have developed their taste and they usually dont care for their health much and prefer to enjoy every meal they can have which probably ios a good thing so as a result we cannot just eliminate the use of manufacted and sugary products,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the impact of sugar and the potential effectiveness of taxation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While you provide reasons for the consumption of sugary products, the argument regarding taxation is repetitive and lacks depth. The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as it suggests that eliminating sugary products is impossible, which weakens your overall stance. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a distinct aspect of the argument and provides clear, logical support for your position throughout the entire essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by poor sentence structure and a lack of cohesive devices. Many sentences are linked loosely, and the transition between ideas is often abrupt. For example, the paragraph starting with 'taxation can also make a huge role' is a single sentence that lacks connection to the preceding or following points. To achieve a higher score, you should use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to guide the reader through your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'esprensive', 'secilly', 'alternativbes', 'hasytle', 'sugray') and some awkward phrasing ('light on packet'). These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'manufactured food' and 'nutrients', the lack of precision in word choice limits your score. Focus on proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations to express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('healthy food are', 'young youth tends') and punctuation. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper capitalization, which makes the text difficult to follow. There is a limited range of complex structures, and those that are attempted often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and using punctuation correctly to separate distinct ideas.
