Student answer (Band 5.5)

In mordern era, the food pattern followed by ancient people is completlychanged in passing years. New genreation are mostly realy on packed food which contains high calories, unhealthy fat and a lots of sugar which creats many issuess. While some people thinks the cost of sugary products set as much can it possible so people consume less sugar. However i totally disagree with the given statement and in upcoming paragraph i will discuss my toughts on it.

Nowadays, People most realy on outside and sugary food. And there are lot of people who facing the serious health issues dur to high consuption of this types of food. But as the statement says sugary products should be more expensive so people avoid to consume it is totally not a meaning full. Moreover price incerased in basic things like sugar can become a burdern for people who hardly afford the necessary things. It create extra financial burdern on peoples. If the price become higher for sugary products it effect sugar industry due to this country's economy and GDP get affected automatically. For example, A country like Queba which produced tons of sugar every year from sugercans and if the price increased the sugar use it become limited and it effect import expoert as well.

Furthermore, The cost will not effect exact like people will stop consuming sugar.Excessive sugar consumption can become a habitual behaviour it do not have any connection with cost. Moreover, People who strongly prefer sugary products may continue buying them despite higher prices. And there are also a possibility to Some consumers may simply reduce spending on other necessities instead.

Alternativily,a quality of good eduction and awareness about health and consumption of sugar can be create huge impact on people's mind set in long term period. Again A higher price could discourage some people from buying sugary products, but this effect may be limited because it does not address the underlying reasons for excessive sugar consumption.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments, such as the economic impact on the sugar industry and the potential for education as an alternative solution. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding 'Queba' (presumably Cuba) is a bit vague and could be better integrated to support your argument about economic consequences. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explained with more specific reasoning rather than just stating the potential outcomes.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'However' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the discussion of economic impact and the habit-forming nature of sugar. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'consumption', 'economy', and 'GDP'. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'mordern', 'completlychanged', 'genraetion', 'issuess') and some awkward phrasing (e.g., 'set as much can it possible'). These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering the spelling of common academic vocabulary and work on using more precise collocations to convey your arguments with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'some people thinks', 'it effect sugar industry') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent sentence structure will help improve your score in this criterion.
