Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 175 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your agreement with the prompt, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence or logical progression. The ideas presented, such as the impact of price on low-income families, are mentioned but not fully explored or explained. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure that all parts of the prompt are addressed in greater detail to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear logical structure. While there are paragraph breaks, the progression of ideas is disjointed and difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transitions like 'Commencing with the information' and 'Result of the end'. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to track the argument. To improve, focus on using clear topic sentences for each paragraph and employing a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'i completally', 'byuing', 'crawing', and 'humen'. Many phrases are unnatural or grammatically incorrect, such as 'never chance again health problem'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to health, economics, and government policy, and pay closer attention to accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage (e.g., 'Price are more important of low class familly'). Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary components to be grammatically complete. The range of structures is very limited, relying mostly on simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
