Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent and often unclear. While you state your agreement, the supporting arguments are confusing. For example, the mention of a survey in Pakistan lacks a clear link to the argument about taxing sugary products. Furthermore, the suggestion that companies should make 'insulin injection for cure' is off-topic, as the prompt asks about taxing sugary food to reduce consumption, not about medical treatments. The position is present but not consistently maintained or logically supported throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there are attempts to use cohesive devices like 'In conclusion' and 'in addition', they are often used incorrectly or do not connect the ideas logically. Paragraphing is present but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. The transition between the idea of taxing products and the discussion of insulin injections is particularly disjointed, which hinders the overall flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often used inaccurately. Phrases like 'making different types of diseases' and 'checking holder have authority' are unnatural and impede clarity. There is an attempt to use some academic vocabulary, such as 'globalisation' and 'biochemicals', but these are often used in contexts that do not make sense. To improve, you should focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that the words you choose accurately reflect the meaning you intend to convey.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('increase in sugar level are major cause'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which makes the writing difficult to read. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors such as verb tense consistency and pluralization.
