Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many manufactured food and drink products contain high levels of sugar, which cuases many health problems. Sugary drinks should be made more costly to encourage people to consume less sugar.
In this modern era, health concern is the major challenge for all the countries to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So, it is worth thinking that there should be proper check and balance upon the manufactured food and drink products consisting high levels of sugar. That's why, there should be implementation of laws by government anf legal authorties to encpurage people for less consumptoion of such products.
I completely agree with this perspective that the food manufactured industries should have to be careful about the production of flavored food and adding artificial sweeteners in drinks. By this method, it can be possible to avoid people from health issues. Moreover, by making the high priced food, the public will also be discouraged to buy these products and there will be less use of sugar. For instance, this rule is implemented by USA and other developed countries to make less consumption of sugary products instead diet based drinks are now more common in these countries.
So, most importantly, it ii is necessary for the people to engage in physical activities along with diet control to maintain a health lifestyle. The physical activities involve sports, walk and jogging and some workouts which can also be helpful for the individuals to stay healthy. I also believe that the processed food and sugary drinks should be banned by goverment to refrain the public from their consumption. Because it causes some life threatening diseases such as diabetes, obesty and some other reproductive diseases.
In conclusion, although it is challenging to completely banned the manufactured and sugary food products but it should be the major concern for government and other food authorities to avoid their consumption by the public to protect their health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position in favour of making sugary products more expensive and even going further to suggest outright bans. The position is maintained throughout the essay. However, some ideas are underdeveloped or repetitive. For example, the suggestion that physical activities should be included alongside diet control, while healthy, digresses slightly from the specific prompt about taxation on sugary products. Furthermore, the example regarding the USA implementing this rule is vague and somewhat inaccurate, as sugary drinks are widely consumed there, though taxes do exist in some cities. Nevertheless, the main arguments regarding health problems like diabetes and obesity are relevant and well-supported, satisfying the requirements for a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used, though paragraph two is overly dense and combines multiple distinct ideas. Cohesive devices are used, but sometimes mechanically or awkwardly, such as 'In this modern era', 'That's why', and 'So, most importantly'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences sometimes falters due to abrupt transitions. Overall, the organizational structure is adequate for the task, placing the response firmly at the Band 6 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student displays an adequate vocabulary range for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'artificial sweeteners', 'life threatening diseases', and 'reproductive diseases'. However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors that detract from the overall quality, including 'cuases', 'anf', 'authorties', 'encpurage', 'consumptoion', 'obesty', and 'banned' instead of 'ban'. While these errors do not severely impede communication, they reflect inconsistency in spelling and word formation, which is characteristic of a Band 5.5 to 6.0 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional and relative clauses ('Many manufactured food... which causes...'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'health concern is the major challenge', 'there should be proper check and balance upon', 'food manufactured industries should have to be careful', 'by making the high priced food', and 'although it is challenging to completely banned'. Punctuation and article usage also show persistent flaws. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar score at Band 5.0.
