Student answer (Band 5.5)
Sugar has a big impect on our daily life. i disagree that sugary food and drink should be made more expensive. although so much sugar can cause many health issues. making them expensive can not solve this problem.
First, Hire price of sugar can effect the people with lo incom. they can not buy sugar on such high prices. however a person who loves to eat sugar he can buy it on any price because he have to eat it. Therefore increasing the price of sugary products can not make it less consumption of sugar.
Second, People should have to check the sugar level on the sugary products. goverment should have to encourage big compenies to add information of sugar on the product so people can easily buy the less sugar cantaining products. They also can ask schools to teach students to take care of there diet. for example they can use the drinks that cantain less sugar and have same good taste.
In addition, we can encourage people to use fruits, vagitables and other healthy things and ask them to do not use sugar snacky things. these choices can make sugar intake less without making sugary products and drinks expensive.
In conclusion, I disagree with making sugar products expensive. Because teaching people and giving them full information of sugary products can low the use of sugar. We should have to encourage people to use healthy things with low sugar. Healthy food choices can help people to consume less sugar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position of disagreement regarding whether sugary products should be made more expensive. Relevant main ideas are presented, such as the impact on low-income individuals and the alternative solutions like better labelling and education. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The explanation regarding low-income earners, for instance, is stated simply ('Hire price of sugar can effect the people with lo incom') without deeper exploration of broader economic ramifications. While the task is addressed, the ideas would benefit from greater extension and more precise supporting examples to reach a higher band. Overall, it satisfies the basic requirements of the prompt with a clear, sustained position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct ideas, such as financial impacts in the first body paragraph and educational solutions in the second. However, logical progression is sometimes hindered by basic or abrupt cohesive devices, such as 'First', 'Second', and 'In addition', which feel somewhat mechanical. Referencing and pronoun use occasionally lack clarity, as seen in sentences like 'a person who loves to eat sugar he can buy it on any price because he have to eat it.' While paragraphing and overall structure are sufficient for readability, the lack of smoother transitions and more sophisticated cohesive ties keeps the score at this level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts related to health and diet. However, there are numerous noticeable spelling errors ('impect', 'Hire', 'incom', 'goverment', 'compenies', 'cantaining', 'vagitables', 'low') and inaccurate word choices or collocations, such as 'sugar snacky things' and 'make it less consumption'. While attempts are made to use topic-specific terminology like 'consumption', 'diet', and 'healthy things', the high frequency of spelling and word-formation errors restricts the lexical score. Communication is occasionally impeded by these linguistic slips, aligning the response with the Band 5 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, incorporating conditional or concessive clauses such as 'although so much sugar can cause many health issues' and 'so people can easily buy the less sugar cantaining products.' However, control over grammar and punctuation is weak, with frequent errors including incorrect verb forms ('making them expensive can not solve', 'People should have to check'), missing articles, and widespread lowercase starting letters for sentences. These frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate that simple structures are handled with much greater reliability than complex ones, placing the grammar score firmly in the lower range.
