Student answer (Band 5.0)

Now a days it is very common the that every one is consuming products which contains high levels of suger, and most of the companies manufacturing lots of food and drinks, which consists lots of sugar, which are very unhealthy. People's argues that if manufacturer high the price of these products so it is likely that people will not consume it large amount. while i personally believe it could help somehow but i strongly disagree with notion that it the only way to stop people from such products.

To begin with, Firstly, It is not the only way to avoid these kind of situations like just increasing the price of produt. people will still buy such kind of things For instance, fast food contains on a lot of sugar which is very dangerous for people's health but lots of people eating it any way and the price is actually double comparing to traditional food which is more healthy and contain less sugar. Additionally, traditional food is much cheap compare to fast food but people still crave for it and prefer junk food like burger, pizza, and shawarma etc.

Furthermore, there are drinks that companies manufactures which has a large amount of sugar. For example people drinks more beverages like soda and other cold drinks which contains a huge amount of sugar which are unhealthy for humans health, Moreover it cold drinks are more expensive compare to other beverages and individuals still prefer it.

In conclusion, increasing the price of drinks and food price could also help to stop people using frim it but it is not the only option.I think government should take action on those companies who manufactures food and drinks which contains high amount of sugar.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether increasing the price of sugary products is the best way to reduce consumption, presenting a clear personal position ('I strongly disagree with notion that it the only way'). However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument relies heavily on the assertion that people buy junk food despite higher prices, but the examples lack specific depth or data. The conclusion touches upon government intervention as an alternative solution, but overall the ideas remain under-developed, aligning best with Band 5 where the task is addressed, but the position and support are limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, showing a basic structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, progression is frequently hindered by mechanical and repetitive use of cohesive devices, such as starting consecutive sentences and paragraphs with phrases like 'To begin with, Firstly,' and 'Moreover it cold drinks'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for instance, 'stop people using frim it'. Overall organisation is present, but the lack of smooth transitions and logical flow places this response at Band 5.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently relying on simple terms like 'food', 'drinks', 'sugar', and 'products'. There are numerous word choice and form errors, such as 'suger' instead of sugar, 'People's argues' instead of people argue, 'manufacturer high the price' instead of increase the price, and 'contain on a lot of sugar'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with significant inaccuracy. While the meaning is generally communicated, the frequent errors and limited range restrict the score to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on standard half-band increments.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most complex sentence attempts are faulty or run-on, such as 'Now a days it is very common the that every one is consuming products which contains high levels of suger, and most of the companies manufacturing lots of food and drinks, which consists lots of sugar...'. Errors are frequent throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('companies manufactures', 'cold drinks are more expensive') and punctuation errors. These persistent errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, placing the grammar firmly at Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.
