Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some people are unaware about the disadvantadges about the food they are consuming which is dangerous for their health. It is essential to know what are the bennefits and drawbacks of unhealthy food.
Firstly, the main component which is bad for our health is sugar. Consuming more sugar can cause so many different kind of diseases. For instance, diabetes is a kind of diseases which stay till you die and may be the reason for your death. In addition, every manufactured food and drinks contain high amount of sugar which people are ignoring and then suffering from health problems. Initially, to avoid this kind of problems, people should think before buying such kind of stuff and also spread awareness about the health problem caused by sugarary products.
Moving forward, I totally agree with the point that sugary products should be more expensive to encourage people to consume less sugar. One question which arrives in our mind is "What will be the benefits of increasing the price of sugary products?". The answer to that is people who can't afford it will automatically stop eating or drinking sugary products. To add more, people will gradually decrease such kind of food consuption. To mitigate, people have to replace sugar with natural sugar like jaggery which will be less detrimental. Lastly, if someone crave for sugar then they can have fruits which are sweet in taste and have health benefits.
To conclude, people who wants to have sugary food will buy it even after increasing the price. Once a person had said that "Health is the only wealth we can have."

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt directly, taking a clear stance that sugary products should indeed be made more expensive. The writer attempts to support this position with arguments regarding health consequences, such as diabetes, and practical outcomes, such as reduced consumption due to affordability issues. However, the development remains somewhat limited and repetitive, particularly in the final body paragraph where ideas like replacing sugar with jaggery or fruit are introduced rather than deeply elaborated. Furthermore, the final sentence trails off slightly with an out-of-place quote that lacks integration. The task is addressed, but ideas could be extended further for a higher band. This performance aligns with a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with basic transitional markers used to guide the reader through the structure, such as 'Firstly' and 'Moving forward'. Paragraphing is attempted, with distinct sections for the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. For instance, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'To mitigate, people have to replace sugar...' where the antecedent or exact meaning is muddy. Additionally, cohesive devices are sometimes overused in a formulaic manner. Progression is present, but logical transitions between sentences can feel abrupt. This meets the criteria for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate vocabulary range for the task, successfully communicating everyday ideas and attempting some less common terminology such as 'detrimental', 'consumption', and 'awareness'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'disadvantadges', 'bennefits', 'drinks contain' instead of 'drinks contains' or 'drink contains', 'sugarary', and 'crave' instead of 'cravings'. While these errors do not severely impede overall communication, they restrict the lexical score. The repertoire is sufficient to accomplish the writing task, fitting neatly into the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range, warranting a Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses ('food they are consuming which is dangerous') and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several recurring errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('every manufactured food and drinks contain'), preposition misuse ('unaware about', 'disadvantadges about'), and awkward phrasing ('a kind of diseases which stay till you die'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but structural errors are frequent enough to cause occasional hesitation for the reader, even though they rarely fully impede communication. This performance fits the Band 5.5 descriptor.
