Student answer (Band 5.5)
Lots of artificial food and drink products manufactured with high amount of sugar, which reason for many health issues. This products should be increase the prices to encourage people to use minimum amount of suger. I agree with this statement. Because, use of fast foods became more popular recantly among the society due to the busy lifestyle and there cost effectiveness. If, this food and bevarages will not affordable, people automatically move away from this fast foods.
Firstly, with the busy lifestyle most of the people tend to buy fast foods and drinks from supper markets. They are very cheap and easy to use. They contain high amount of artificial sugar types to increase the taste. They cause the level up of the blood sugar and also blood cholesterol levels. It causes secondarily the risk of heart attacks. Furthermore, increase of cancer risk with these products will become a major issue in the near future. As an example, the amount of cancer patients were two fold in the past two years and most of them are used to eat fast food and drinks.
Furthermore, most people buy this artificial sugery products, because they are affordable. If it is not afordable, it controls the people by using the fast food and drinks. Because, in our mind we always think about the cost. If it is in higher ranges, we automatically refuse the usage of these products. As an example, according to a research, the use of expensive food products are significantly less than use of cheap food and drink products.
In conclusion, the use of prepared food which containing high level of suger, can cause critical problems such as heart diseases, kidney and liver diseases. If the market can increase the prices of these products, can reduce the risk of these health problems significantly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing with the prompt and supporting it with arguments regarding health issues and affordability. The writer presents relevant ideas, such as the link between fast food consumption and conditions like heart attacks and cancer, as well as the economic deterrent of higher pricing. However, some ideas are under-developed or rely on broad generalizations without deeper elaboration, placing this performance at Band 6.0. The conclusion also briefly mentions additional diseases like kidney and liver issues that were not introduced in the body paragraphs, which slightly detracts from logical development. Nevertheless, the main stance is clear throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilized to separate distinct arguments about health impacts and cost factors. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. The student relies on repetitive cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'As an example' multiple times, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the opening sentences where sentence fragments and missing verbs disrupt the flow. Transitional phrases lack sophisticated linking, leading to a somewhat choppy progression of ideas. These features correspond to a Band 5.0 descriptor, as the organization is evident but cohesive management is inconsistent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited but minimally adequate to communicate the writer's basic points. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'cost effectiveness', 'secondarily', and 'deteriorate' (implied), but these are accompanied by frequent spelling and word-choice errors like 'suger' instead of sugar, 'recantly' instead of recently, 'there' instead of their, 'bevarages', 'supper markets', and 'afordable'. These noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical score to Band 5.0. To improve, the student needs to focus on accurate spelling and expanding the range of collocation forms related to health and economics.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. There are major grammatical and structural inaccuracies throughout the text, such as fragment sentences ('Lots of artificial food and drink products manufactured with high amount of sugar, which reason for many health issues') and passive voice errors ('This products should be increase the prices'). Subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'most of them are used to eat', further impede accuracy. While the reader can generally follow the intended meaning, the high frequency of basic grammatical errors places this response firmly at Band 5.0.
