Student answer (Band 6.0)
Foods and drinks made on large scale have large amount to suger in them, which in return can cause many serious health concerns. Some people think that these type of products should be made more costly to force people use less. In my option, i disagree with this statement beacuse there are many better ways to discourage people from useing less sugary products. Governments can regulate industries which manufacture products with high level of sugar and there should be more awareness campaigns for people so they can choose better alternatives.
Compaines are making food and drinks more processed with high levels of sugar to make thier products taste better. Compaines such as coke-a-cola and pepsi have huge ammount of sugar in thier beverages without addressing the health problems associated with them. Governments should put regulations to ensure sugar can be added only to a certain limit. They must test amount of sugar in products and make sure they are safe for public consumtion. For example, Pepsi was fined because it was found that they were using artifical sugar in thier products which led to high number of people being diagnoesd diabeties.
People should also be more aware of thier choices when they buy these type of products. There must be awareness by the schools, governments and health professionals. Health professionals can do awareness campains in schools and colleges so that young genration can be more thoughtful and incline towards more healther options. Furthermore, compaines which sell more healthy and organic options should be subsidized and people should be encourged to buy products from them. For example, People being more aware and opting for healther alternatives will eventullay led to many less health problems in society.
In conclusion, Food and drinks made on large with high amount of suagr has cased many health problems this can be discouarged by make people more aware of thier purchases and also enforcing reglations on compains which practic these tactics to drive more profits with no concern to public health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree with making sugary products more expensive and propose regulation and public education instead. Both alternatives are relevant, and you support them with examples, including limits on added sugar and school campaigns. This addresses the main question, but the response does not fully examine the proposed price increase itself—for instance, whether it might reduce consumption or unfairly affect lower-income consumers. Some support is also unclear: the Pepsi example does not clearly establish the claim about artificial sugar, diabetes, or how it supports your argument. To develop the response further, explain the likely effects and limitations of your alternatives and connect each example explicitly to your position. The ideas are relevant, though some are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present alternatives, and a conclusion restates the position. The progression from government regulation to public awareness is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” help show how ideas relate. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the move from sugar limits to the Pepsi example does not explain the connection sufficiently; the final example in the next paragraph also repeats the general point about healthier choices rather than extending it. References such as “these type of products” and “these tactics” are not always precise. Make each paragraph develop one central claim, and use clearer links between evidence and the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “processed,” “regulations,” “awareness campaigns,” “subsidized,” and “alternatives,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “large amount to suger,” “made more costly,” “incline towards,” and repeated misspellings such as “compaines,” “thier,” and “healther.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “artificial sugar” and “high number of people being diagnosed diabetes.” Build a more accurate set of expressions for discussing consumption, health risks, and policy, and check spelling carefully. More precise collocations would make your argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “products with high levels of sugar to make their products taste better” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “so they can choose better alternatives.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “these type of products” has a number-agreement problem, and “there are many better ways to discourage people from useing less” has an unclear grammatical construction. In “Food and drinks made on large with high amount of sugar has cased,” the subject–verb agreement and sentence structure are faulty. Articles and plural forms also need attention. Practise checking agreement, sentence completeness, and verb patterns, while retaining your attempts at longer structures.
