Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, Due to the high consumption and availablity of processed food the amout of hidden sugar and other sweeteners has caused a rise in alot of health problems such as diabetes. A lot of individuals still have faith that governament should not interfere in personal food choises. I strongly disagree with them because an measured increase in priceses of sugary products can be an affective way in avoiding health problems.
From my prespevtive, sugar is very bad for health as it can cause many health problems. In addition from sugar consumption it can also cause you fat problems which is considered to a start of a lot of other problems regarding health. From the use of sugar it can cause you diseses like diabetes, obesity, etc. With someone with type 2 diabetes you will always have to moniter your blood sugar levels and with also have to eat and drink in a save mannered way to maintain.
If we from humans anology, we cant leave things which dont have any other replacement but in case of sugar there is an alternate such as stevia
which could be used easily. An increase in the pricese of sugary products can be a affective way to divert people from consuming sugar onto alternates . which can save us from diseases loke fatty liver heart problems and others
to conclude, increase in sugar prices is an affective way to reduce haelth problems

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in favour of making sugary products more expensive, and you give relevant reasons, including diabetes, obesity and the possibility of choosing stevia instead. The example of managing type 2 diabetes adds some practical detail. However, the argument remains limited and under-developed: you do not explain how higher prices would change purchasing habits, and the alternative to sugar is mentioned without showing how widely it could be used. The conclusion repeats your position but does not draw the reasons together. The response is also 11 words below the required minimum, so there is less space to develop your ideas. Explain the proposed price increase and support each main point with a clearer example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can generally follow your position. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. For example, “If we from humans anology” does not establish a clear link to the point about stevia, while the second paragraph moves from sugar’s effects to diabetes management without a smooth explanation. Linking phrases such as “In addition” and “to conclude” are used, but some connections are awkward or incomplete, and the final body paragraph ends with a full stop after “alternates” before continuing with “which”. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your argument about price and consumption.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “processed food,” “hidden sugar,” “sweeteners,” “diabetes,” and “obesity,” so the subject is identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand, such as “fat problems,” “save mannered way,” and “divert people … onto alternates.” Repetition of “health problems” and “sugar” also limits precision. Some errors obscure meaning, particularly “humans anology,” and frequent misspellings such as “governament,” “availablity,” and “diseses” reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of health and policy terms, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, describe “health risks” and “sugar substitutes” rather than relying on vague phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because … an increase in prices … can be an affective way” and a conditional-style example about someone with type 2 diabetes. However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors make some sentences hard to interpret. For instance, “From my prespevtive, sugar is very bad for health as it can cause many health problems. In addition from sugar consumption it can also cause you fat problems” has unclear sentence boundaries and an incomplete grammatical relationship. Other examples include “it can cause you diseses” and “With someone with type 2 diabetes you will always have to moniter.” Practise complete sentence structures, articles, agreement and punctuation, then proofread for sentence boundaries.
