Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you completely agree that sugary products should cost more, and the conclusion restates this view. You also address health effects, naming diabetes and heart attacks, and suggest alternatives and public awareness. These are relevant points, but some parts of the argument are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that people can afford expensive products does not explain how a price increase would change their purchasing decisions. The discussion of alternatives and awareness also shifts away from the main proposal without showing how these measures relate to higher prices. To strengthen the response, explain the likely effect of price rises and support your points with a specific example or clearer reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally move from the health problem to possible responses, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Consequently” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships. However, some connections are unclear or mechanical. For instance, “This is not the only solution” does not clearly identify which solution is being discussed, and the paragraph moves quickly from alternatives to awareness. References such as “this products” and “it” also make it harder to follow exactly what is meant. Use clearer topic sentences and refer explicitly to the ideas you are developing; this would make the progression more consistent and the cohesion less repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “manufactured products,” “immune system,” “diabetes” and “alternatives,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range and control of word choice are limited, and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make parts of the argument difficult to interpret. Examples include “contaminated sugar junk food,” “reluctate people,” “it shows it’s results” and “sugery products.” Some spelling and word-form errors also recur. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “sugar-rich processed foods” rather than “contaminated sugar junk food,” and use “discourage people” instead of “reluctate people.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “By using this products regularly it cause serious problems to health.” However, errors in agreement, articles, pronouns and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include “every person consume,” “this products are expensive,” and “Most of the youth take it regularly at that time their immune system is strong,” where clauses need clearer separation. There are also problems with possessive forms, as in “it’s use.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and divide long or joined ideas into complete sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make your meaning clearer.
