Student answer (Band 5.5)
Sevaral manufactured food and beverages consists of high doses of processed sugar, which leads to many severe health problem. Products contain sugar should be more expensive to encourage individuals to cut sugar from their daily basis. I completely agrees with the statement because making sugary products expensive not only make individuals question their choises but also allows healthy products to compete in the market.
To start with, by increasing the prices of sugary products individuals start thinking about thier chose before buying it which before they bought it before having a single thought of health problems related to sugar due to having pocket friendly options and also starts consider other options in the market with much more healthy ingredients turning them away from sedentary lifestyle.
Also, earlier healthier product which contains neligible amount of processed ingredients had hardtime competing with cheap processed food but by increased cost of their competition they will we able to capture the market and provide better options without reducing their price. Therefore, making them establish themselfs.
To conclude, government institutons should take necessary steps to make food and drinks with high sugar more expensive which awares people about their choises and aslo indirectly promotes healthier food options in market.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that sugary products should cost more, and you give two relevant reasons—consumers may reconsider purchases, and healthier products may compete more effectively. However, both points are asserted rather than sufficiently explained or supported with a specific example, so the response only partly develops the task. The claim that higher prices will turn people away from a “sedentary lifestyle,” for instance, needs a clearer link to sugar consumption. The conclusion restates your view but adds little development. The response is also 46 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain your reasoning. Extend each main point with a concrete example or explanation, and consider a counterargument such as the effect on low-income consumers.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion summarises your view. Sequencing is generally logical, and signposts such as “To start with,” “Also,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the argument. This clear organisation meets the lower-band expectations and shows some movement towards more flexible cohesion. However, the first body paragraph is difficult to follow because the idea about reconsidering a purchase is repeated and several points are crowded into one sentence. The final sentence of the second body paragraph, “Therefore, making them establish themselfs,” is also disconnected from the preceding explanation. Use clearer sentence boundaries and develop one main idea at a time, with references that make the links between ideas explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “manufactured food and beverages,” “processed sugar,” “health problems,” and “compete in the market.” This gives you enough language to communicate the central argument. However, the range is limited, and noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors sometimes make the reader pause: “Sevaral,” “choises,” “negligible” (written as “negligible” incorrectly in the response), and “pocket friendly” are examples. Phrases such as “cut sugar from their daily basis” and “healthier product” are also imprecise or unnatural. Aim to learn common collocations for this topic and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms such as “reduce sugar intake” and “affordable alternatives” would make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the structure “not only … but also,” and your main position is usually understandable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “I completely agrees” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “Products contain sugar should be more expensive” is missing a relative clause marker. The long sentence beginning “by increasing the prices” contains unclear tense and clause relationships, and “they will we able” omits a verb form. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause before attempting longer structures.
