Student answer (Band 5.5)
At present time, manufacturar produce food and drinks with high level of sugar, which can contribute in seroius health issues, such as obesity and diabetes. I firmly agree with the statment that price of sugary products should be incresed along with implimenting few laws by the governemts to reduce the consumption of sugary products.
To begin with, the products which have high level of sugar should be expensive, so that people discourage to buy such unhealthy products. As a result, people will overcome seviour health issue of obesity ans diabetes. Apart from this such action may encourage people towards healthy food options. Sabsequently, businesses also encourage to reduce sugar level in their products.
However, only rise in price not sufficient to reduced manufcturing of sugary products without involving higher authorites. Goverments entites should conduct campion for awareness and also charge higher tariff rate on such kind of food products and drinks.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that price should be incresed to discourage people to consume such products, with the help of government. So,it willbe more impactfull.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that sugary products should cost more, and you also suggest government action. The points about discouraging purchases, encouraging healthier choices, and prompting businesses to reduce sugar are relevant to the question. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because these ideas are asserted rather than explained or supported with specific examples. For instance, explain how higher prices might change purchasing habits, and give a relevant example or evidence. The paragraph about government campaigns and tariffs introduces another measure but does not show how it would work alongside price increases. The response is also 74 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop your reasons fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Apart from this,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. The main progression is understandable, moving from higher prices to government involvement. However, some links are mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always made clear. For example, “As a result” introduces health benefits without explaining the steps between higher prices and improved health, while “However” begins a paragraph that adds a qualification but does not clearly contrast with the previous point. Develop each paragraph around one main idea and use linking phrases to show precise cause, contrast, or addition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “obesity,” “diabetes,” “consumption,” “awareness,” and “healthy food options.” These choices make your main meaning understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “manufacturar,” “seviour,” and “campion.” Some combinations are also awkward, including “overcome health issue” and “higher tariff rate on such kind of food products.” Aim to use accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe “reducing sugar consumption,” “raising taxes on sugary products,” or “preventing diet-related illnesses.” More precise vocabulary would help you explain your argument without relying on repeated references to “products.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “products with high level of sugar, which can contribute…” and a result clause beginning “so that.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur often enough to affect clarity. Examples include “price of sugary products should be incresed,” where the article is missing, and “only rise in price not sufficient,” which needs a complete verb structure. In “people discourage to buy,” the verb pattern is incorrect, and “not sufficient to reduced” uses the wrong form after “to.” Practise complete clause structures, articles, subject–verb agreement, and verb patterns, then proofread punctuation and spacing around commas.
