Student answer (Band 6.0)
Various health issues can be caused by intake of increased sugar levels present in the processed food. i totally disagree about the statement that the prices of the sugary items should be increased, so that people would in-take less, instead i think the sugary items should be manufactured in a way that it would cause no harm to people.
High sugar intake leads to various health diseases for instant, obesity, diabetes and stomach problems. As obesity is the root of every disease, therefore one should cut his sugar to stay healthy. The pocessed food contains a very unhealthy amount of sugar and instead of increasing the prices of these items, companies should manufacture the food that has little amount of sugar in it and the sugar present should not be harmful to the humans. For example, Coke has launched their zero sugar drink that is not harmful for the humans and is flavoured with sweetness that has no harm.
Some people, for instance, gym going people use sweetners with no harm, for example, stevia. Stevia is obtained from a plant and scientific studies show that it has no danger to the humans. This trend is increasing among the people who are died concious. Another example is use of candrell by diabetes patients, it has no negative aspects on them.
To put it in a nutshell, some people have sweettooth and they cannot cut off their sugar in-take. Instead of eating manufactured food, people should take sweetners which have no harm in their bodies and it would fulfill their sugar cravings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with making sugary products more expensive and favour reformulating products or using alternative sweeteners. You also address the health concern and give examples such as zero-sugar Coke and stevia. However, the response develops the proposed alternatives more than it explains why price increases would be ineffective or unfair, so one part of the question is less fully addressed. Some claims, including that obesity is “the root of every disease” and that certain sweeteners cause “no harm,” are too broad and would be stronger with qualification or support. To develop the argument further, compare the likely effects of higher prices with reformulation and explain how your examples support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs give reasons and examples, and the final paragraph restates your recommendation. This makes the main line of argument understandable. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, particularly through repeated examples introduced with “for example,” and the second and third paragraphs overlap in their focus on alternatives to sugar. Some connections between claims are not fully explained; for instance, the point about gym-goers using stevia does not clearly show why increasing product prices is a poor policy. Organise each body paragraph around a distinct reason, and use clearer links to show how each example supports that reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “processed food,” “health issues,” “obesity,” “diabetes,” “sweeteners,” and “sugar cravings.” These choices make your meaning generally clear, and terms such as “zero sugar” help you discuss specific alternatives. However, several word-choice and spelling problems reduce precision, including “in-take,” “pocessed,” “died concious,” and “sweettooth.” Some phrases are also unnatural or overly absolute, such as “has no harm” and “root of every disease.” Aim for accurate collocations and more measured language—for example, describe a product as “lower in sugar” or an alternative as “considered a safer option,” rather than claiming it has no risk.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “High sugar intake leads to…” and a relative clause in “the food that has little amount of sugar in it.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “i totally disagree” needs a capital letter, and “the prices … should be increased, so that” has an unnecessary comma before the purpose clause. In “As obesity is the root of every disease, therefore one should cut his sugar,” the linking structure is awkward and the pronoun is not inclusive. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check articles, agreement, pronouns, and punctuation during revision.
