Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, packaged food become more common among young people or even families. Packaged food and beverages contain high proportion of sugar which cause several health problems in adults and young people. I completely agree with this suggestion as the increased prices of these food will discourage people to consume it.
People started to buy packaged food to save time and effort while cooking; therefore, many health problems has been seen in past few years which are caused by high sugar intake. Many studies report that high sugar contant in candies, snacks or drinks leads to diseases like obesity, hyper activeness and ADHD in different age groups. ADHD and hyper active kids are reported to have poor diet in past where junk food contains their whole diet. Aduts who eats manufactured food products, have high chances of being diagnosed with obesity and heart issues.
Due to rising health problems, it is being suggested that high sugar products should be made more expensive to discourage people to consume sugar. Manufactured food was chosen by the families as it was quite afforadable than organic food and takes less time to cook. Awareness must be created among people, especially parents who needs to give more time to kitchen to prepare good quality and nutritious food for their childern. Although higher prices will play essential role to be avoided by the childern and adults, families will automatically choose organic ingredients for their meals.
In conclusion, suggested idea is applicable in the society. Actions must be taken by the govenment to reduce sugar intake and save country from increasing health problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that higher prices could discourage sugar consumption, and the conclusion returns to the need for action. You also explain relevant health concerns and connect price increases with families choosing other foods. This meets the task well, while showing some of the stronger development expected above this level. However, the argument is not fully developed: the claim that higher prices will lead families to choose organic ingredients is asserted rather than explained, and the discussion of ADHD and hyperactivity is not clearly linked to evidence or to the proposed pricing measure. Develop these points with a specific example and explain how price changes would affect purchasing decisions, including possible limits for lower-income families.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs discuss health effects and possible responses, and a conclusion summarises your position. Linking words such as “therefore,” “Although,” and “In conclusion” help show relationships between ideas. However, progression within the body paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The second paragraph moves from time-saving to health problems, then to several conditions and age groups without clearly connecting each point. References such as “these food” and “it” also make it less clear whether you mean packaged products, sugar, or consumption. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, and make links between examples and your central argument more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “high sugar intake,” “nutritious food,” “manufactured food products,” and “health problems.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and there are attempts at more specific terms such as “obesity” and “organic ingredients.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes distract the reader: “contant,” “afforadable,” “childern,” and “govenment” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “poor diet in past” and “play essential role to be avoided.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, and choose precise terms rather than repeating broad phrases such as “health problems” and “packaged food.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect clause with “therefore” and a concession beginning “Although.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Packaged food become more common” needs a past or present-perfect verb form, while “many health problems has been seen” has subject–verb disagreement and an awkward passive construction. In “families who needs,” the verb does not agree with the plural subject, and “people to consume it” has unclear singular referencing. Review verb agreement, tense consistency, articles, and pronoun reference. Aim to retain your complex sentences while checking that each clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
