Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, people are eating food that contains high levels of sugar which results in many health problems so some people suggests that the products which contains more sugar should be made more expensive so that people consume less sugar. I completely agree with this statements because health problem like diabetes and obesity is increasing sharply in the world.
To start with, the problems that are increasing because of eating sugary products are diabetes, obesity and heart attacks. The production companies attracts young children's with their good marketing strategics and it leads to healths problem at very young age. For example, the Americans face these health problems every year and most of their citizens is living unhealthy lifestyle. Every year more numbers of people are going through these problems. To stop this people thinks that making sugary products expensive will help the to consume less sugar.
However, the poor people might suffer from this initiative as it will be hard for them to buy some of the basic products. The government should take more taxes on sugary products so people should look for healthy options.
It will leads to a health lifestyle of the citizens. Furthermore, when the numbers decline the government should reverse the action so that poor people should not suffer for long time.
To conclude, eating less sugars will leads to good lifestyle to achieve this sugaries products should be made more expensive so that people ignore them and find a healthy alternative. However, when the health problems decline the price should be same as before so that poor people do not suffer in long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that sugary products should cost more, and the conclusion returns to this view. You identify relevant health consequences, including diabetes and obesity, and explain that higher prices could encourage people to choose healthier options. The discussion also recognises a counterargument: poorer people may be affected by the price increase. However, this concern is only briefly explained, and the proposal to reverse the price rise when health problems decline is not supported with a clear reason or practical explanation. The example about Americans is broad and does not show how higher prices would change consumption. Develop these points with specific reasoning or a more concrete example to make the response more fully supported throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, moving from your position to supporting reasons, a counterargument, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and signposts such as “To start with,” “However,” and “To conclude” make the direction of the argument apparent. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical: “To stop this” refers broadly to several health problems, while the link between taxing sugary products and the later suggestion to reverse the action is not fully explained. The sentence beginning “It will leads” is also separated from the preceding idea in a way that interrupts the flow. Use clearer references and connect each paragraph’s claims explicitly, so the argument progresses smoothly rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “high levels of sugar,” “diabetes,” “obesity,” “marketing,” “taxes,” and “healthy options.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main argument, but several word choices, collocations, and word forms are inaccurate or repetitive. Examples include “healths problem,” “marketing strategics,” “more numbers of people,” and “eating less sugars”; these make parts of the response sound unnatural and sometimes less precise. “Good marketing” is also vague when describing how companies attract children. Aim to use accurate topic collocations and vary repeated terms such as “health problems” and “products.” Proofreading spelling and word forms will help your vocabulary sound more controlled and appropriate for an academic argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because health problem like diabetes and obesity is increasing” and a conditional idea about reversing the action when health problems decline. The main meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “some people suggests” should use a plural verb, and “The production companies attracts” has the same agreement problem. In “It will leads,” the modal should be followed by the base form. There are also errors in “most of their citizens is living” and “the poor people might suffer from this initiative as it will be hard for them to buy.” Check subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete and clear.
