Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is a pressing issue about sugar in today's world. There is a sharpe upsurge in the health problems due to the high comsumption of sugar.
Sugar is very important for our body.Human body needs sugar to be more active but we should consume sugar within our limits.Manufactured foods contains a large amount of sugar which is affecting human health. To be safeful from health problems,it is the duty of people to consume sugar within their limits.I will disagree about the fact that sugary products should be made more expensive so that people can consume less sugar. It is the duty of people to took control on themselves. They should know their limits because we cant totally cut from sugar as it is our basic need. When people will buy manufactured products with less sugar and sales of products with high sugar will decreases, they will automatically make products with less sugar. It is on our own that how we will handle this matter. The government should intervene in this kind of matter and should raise awareness about the consumption of sugar. They can build campaigns where they can guide people and tell them about the pros and cons of sugar and the diseases it will cause. They can also fixed the amount the sugar on the manufactured products as per gram.
For instance,i was a very fat guy and i comsumes a lot sugar in my past but i want to reduce my weight. So i cut the 75% of my comsuption of sugar and started losing weight.I have a lot of health issues but with the less weight and small comsumption my health and body was started getting better. The meaning is that you can do anything in your life with a proper aim.If you will control your comsumption of sugar, you will save yourselves with the lot of health problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with making sugary products more expensive, and you offer alternatives such as personal responsibility, public-awareness campaigns, and setting limits on sugar content. These points are relevant to the question, and your personal example about reducing sugar intake supports the health argument. However, the response does not fully explain why higher prices would be ineffective or unfair, and the claim that consumers choosing lower-sugar products will automatically make manufacturers change is asserted rather than developed. The discussion of sugar as a basic need also needs qualification, since the task concerns high-sugar manufactured products rather than sugar in general. Develop these comparisons and support each main reason more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable progression: it introduces the issue and your position, gives reasons and possible government actions, then adds a personal example. This helps the reader follow the overall argument. However, most of the response is presented in one long paragraph, so the main ideas are not clearly separated. Connections also rely heavily on repeated forms such as “They can” and “It is the duty,” while transitions between personal responsibility, government action, and your own experience are abrupt. Use separate paragraphs for your position and reasons, government measures, and the example. Clearer linking phrases and more precise references would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “health problems,” “consumption,” “manufactured products,” “awareness,” and “diseases.” This gives you enough language to communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated words such as “sugar,” “people,” and “health,” and several choices or forms are inaccurate: “sharpe upsurge,” “safeful,” and “cut from sugar” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “comsumption” and “comsumes” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise topic phrases and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “reduce sugar intake” rather than “cut from sugar.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “When people will buy manufactured products with less sugar…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas. However, verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction are often inaccurate, making some sentences difficult to process. For example, “Manufactured foods contains” needs subject–verb agreement, and “I comsumes” and “my body was started getting better” use incorrect verb forms. The conditional sentence should use a present form after “when,” and several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise accurate present and past forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries before adding more complex structures.
