Student answer (Band 5.5)

The industry of processed food and drinks that contains high level of sugar is very trending in present. It causes various health problems related to heart.Due to their demand, prices of these products are touching the sky on which I strongly agree.

Foods like these are known to be harmful for us but we are constantly denying this fact and consuming this on exponential rate.America is on number one in consuming cold drinks and other sugary drinks.Along sugar they are also carbonated which makes it twice harmful.About more than 60 percent of youth is experiencing obesity beacuse of processed drinks and fast food.If it will remain that approachable to common people, then soon the whole world will be facing cardiovascular and weight problems which can effect their life.

Government should take measures to control the in take of these foods and make sure the safety and hygiene standard of manufactured food. Also by increasing the prices of these products it can be stopped.Due to harsh condition of economy, it is difficult to do grocery and eat natural things. Government should reduce prices of natural things and impose large taxes on those companies which are manufacturing processed food and should increases their prices also for the consumer. We should make responsible policies and take step to control the intake of harmful artificial food items for our people's health.

In the conclusion,I would say that by taking these steps of controling prices of these products, control in in-take of that food and drinks will also be ensured. It is extremely important to make safe our people's health

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you strongly support making sugary products more expensive, and you give relevant reasons, including health risks and the influence of affordability. The suggestion to tax manufacturers and reduce the cost of natural foods also adds a practical response. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that more than 60 percent of young people experience obesity is not connected clearly to evidence about sugary drinks, and the opening statement about prices “touching the sky” seems to conflict with your later argument that these products remain accessible. Develop one or two reasons with clearer explanation or a specific example, and keep the relationship between price and consumption consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces your view, presents health concerns, proposes government action, and ends with a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument understandable. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes move abruptly—for instance, the discussion shifts from carbonated drinks and obesity to a worldwide prediction without showing the link in detail. Connectors such as “Also” and “Due to” help, but some transitions feel mechanical, and references such as “these products” and “that food and drinks” are not always precise. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it before moving on. A clearer link between the affordability argument and your proposed tax measures would strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “processed food,” “cardiovascular,” “obesity,” “impose large taxes,” and “natural things.” These choices show an attempt to discuss health and policy rather than relying only on basic terms. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “very trending,” “on exponential rate,” “twice harmful,” and “make safe our people's health.” Spelling and word-form slips, including “beacuse” and “controling,” also reduce precision. Aim for more natural collocations and choose words that express the intended meaning exactly; for example, distinguish between products being popular, expensive, or widely consumed. More consistent control of these phrases would make your argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If it will remain that approachable to common people, then soon the whole world will be facing…” and clauses beginning with “which.” This gives the response some structural variety, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “food and drinks that contains” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “If it will remain” needs a more suitable conditional form. Several sentences also run together without spaces after full stops, and the final paragraph contains an unclear construction: “control in in-take … will also be ensured.” Practise accurate sentence patterns and proofread punctuation, especially in longer sentences.
