Student answer (Band 6.0)

in this contemporary era, it has been observed that, the habit of smoking is increasing at alarming rate specially among the youngers in public place .A handful of masses consider that it should be illegal in public areas however, others claims that it that is not sufficient remedy to mitigate this issue .Both of views will be elaborated in the forthcoming paragraph along with my opinion.

On the one hand, Why smoking should be illegal in public place such as hospitals ,schools or cinemas as its creates plethora of problems. primarily," Puts negative impact on others health as well as lives .Explain further, whenever individuals do smoking in common area that caused significant inconvenience for the stranger because we do not know that person in proper way. To illustrate," A recent survey conducted by the local council showed that over 60Percent people got various health issues when they were in contact with that person who did smoking in public area. Besides this "Excessive chance of mishappening" because of this in public area can face alot of accident specially in Petrol Pump." For example, a couple of month one of my neighbour got injured when he was filling fuel in their car as he was did smoke in that time.

On the other hand, Government should offered some strict rule and regulation in public place to tackle those problems and who will break those rule have to provide excessive amount of plenty. Another one," Implantation of alternative source at public place which not only give them healthy thing to eat but also assist to improve the air quality of that area.

To recapitulate, I strongly believe that , it should be completely ban in public area .Although, it is not only the resposbility of authority even every one should come forward to rectify this issues. I certaily favour the latter opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'alternative sources' at public places is vague and lacks a clear connection to discouraging smoking. While the prompt is addressed, the supporting examples, such as the anecdote about the neighbor at the petrol pump, are slightly disjointed and lack sufficient depth to fully explore the complexities of the issue. The position is consistent, but the arguments could be more logically extended to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes awkward or incorrect, such as the phrase 'Explain further,' which is used as a transition rather than a natural discourse marker. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the punctuation—specifically the misuse of quotation marks—disrupts the logical progression of ideas. While there is an overall structure, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the transition between arguments feel abrupt rather than fluid.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of unnatural collocations and word choice errors, such as 'handful of masses,' 'remedy to mitigate this issue,' and 'excessive amount of plenty.' The student attempts to use more formal language, but the execution is often inaccurate. Spelling errors, such as 'resposbility' and 'certaily,' are present. To improve, the student should focus on learning standard collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('others claims,' 'Government should offered'), incorrect verb tenses ('he was did smoke'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also problematic, with unnecessary quotation marks used throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading and basic grammatical rules is required.
