Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few individuals suggest smoking should be prohibited in crowded places in order to quit smoking. While others suggest it is not enough. To high extent, I believe its one of the solution that can be followed but should also focus on how it affects your health and should increase the value of the product which will lead to less demand.
Firstly, smoking is injurious to health. It leads to many health issues like asthma, cancer, lungs disease and many more critical health issues. The product package itself mentions the cons for it still people purchase it. For instance, advertisements say they are not good for health and they sell it. Nowadays, hospitals bills are expensive which should be main concern for individuals. Discouraging smoking in public places will affect it at certain extent. Patients in hospital should be interviewed about their experience on their health issues will be an amazing approach towards the smokers . The product package should be built unattractive and advertisements should be mostly focused towards heath concerns.
Secondly the best thing is to increase the value of the product. For instance, if the product is expensive people would hesitate to buy it and would gradually quit smoking. The brands which are imported to our countries their prices and customs should be escalated which would be unaffordable. When supply is high and demand is low , the product automatically is sold less in market.
To conclude, smoking in crowded places should be uplifted is one of the measures however increasing the price of the product will also be encouraging to high extent.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that banning smoking in public is a solution, the explanation of why it is 'not enough' is underdeveloped. The suggestion to interview hospital patients is a creative idea, but it is not clearly linked to the prompt's requirement to discuss why other measures are needed. The argument regarding price increases is more relevant, but the explanation remains superficial. To improve, ensure each body paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more detailed reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as in the second paragraph where the transition from health issues to hospital bills feels abrupt. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall cohesion could be improved by using a wider variety of cohesive devices to connect ideas more fluidly within paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'prohibited', 'injurious', and 'escalated'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice or phrasing, such as 'smoking in crowded places should be uplifted' (which is incorrect usage) and 'to high extent' (which should be 'to a great extent'). There is also some repetition of basic terms. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated vocabulary to express your ideas with greater precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Examples include 'its one of the solution' (should be 'it is one of the solutions'), 'at certain extent' (should be 'to a certain extent'), and 'advertisements should be mostly focused towards heath concerns' (should be 'health'). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. To achieve a higher score, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and attempt to use a wider range of complex structures with more control.
