Student answer (Band 5.5)
In modern era, smoking is a bad habit which is increasing day by day. Therefore, individual believe if they ban the tobacco products in public places can helps to reduce drink smokes. However, opponents think that other remedies are also essential in order to completely stop this issue from roots. I will discuss both the views along with reasons related with this problem in the upcoming paragraphs.
On the one hand, smocking should be illegal especially in public places such as bus stops, exhibitions and museum and Sikh temples. In this way they create a fear in mind and they think before smoke. Regimes should also fined if they smoke in these places. smoking is illegal in public place such as museum and Sikh temples because it can demolish the purity of the history of such location. this can have a bad impact on environmental. they cannot breathe in clean air suffer from many diseases such as asthama
On the other hand, Government should ban tobacco products under the age 18. To explain it more, youngsters are the future of the nation. Higher authorities make ensure that before selling any products related with cigarette must check their age on identification card such as driving license. If the employee is sailing product should fired for the specific period so that they can stop smocking in their country. Another solution is nicotine products should not advertised. Undoubtedly their are many channels on social media which advertised tobacco items individual can have an easy access to watch these ads not only on television but also on newspapers. These can have a negative impact on their psychological health as well as on their physical health. For instance, Teachers and parents should encourage juveniles to take part in others curricular activities like playing games on national and international levels rather than indulge in bad activities.
To recapitulate, although smoking is ban and illegal in public places. As per me, other ways such as check id if they are under 18, public awareness about the pessimistic impacts of cigarettes can also helpful to reduce smoke used by individual in society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the effectiveness of banning smoking in public places and the need for additional measures. The position is clear, though the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the argument regarding 'Sikh temples' is specific but slightly tangential to the broader public health debate. The ideas are relevant, but the explanation of why other measures are needed could be more deeply explored. The conclusion restates the position, but the overall development lacks the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'In this way they create a fear in mind' is awkward and lacks a clear referent. There are also issues with referencing; 'they' is used frequently without a clear antecedent. While the logical progression is generally maintained, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive sentence structures hinder the flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main points but is often repetitive and imprecise. There are several instances of incorrect word choice, such as 'drink smokes' instead of 'smoking', 'sailing product' instead of 'selling products', and 'demolish the purity' which is not the most natural collocation. The range is limited, and the student struggles with word forms (e.g., 'advertised' used as a verb where 'advertised' or 'advertising' is needed). To improve, the student should focus on learning collocations and more precise academic terminology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but errors are frequent and sometimes impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'individual believe', 'Regimes should also fined'), article usage, and sentence fragments. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of full stops and commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors.
