Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays , it is quite common to see smokers to smoking on public places without having concern about people's health. Many individuals believe that smoking should be declared as illegal on common places. However , others believe that there are some other effective measures such as awaerness programmes and health risks related to smoking should be explaind to those smokers is necessary to address this issue.
On the one hand ,government has already introduced guidlines related to smoking .Although 'No Smoking Zone' displayed on public places, still people smoke without having concern related to others health. For instance, in hospitals, outside the schools , and others private sectors and buildings everwhere smoking in prohibited. However, smokers without beinng affrad doing this unhealthy activity in public areas.Therfore, it increase risk for health issues to the secondary person.
On the other hand, smoking can be reduced by providing health awareness camps on public parks and sectors. For example, people should teach about its negative impact on health espcially on lungs. As a result, this action can help to discourage them avoid smoking .Moreover,Government should establish free deaddiction centres for smokers .This can help them to stop smoking free of cost with recreational programms. For instance, they should involved in other kind of activities such as meditation ,yoga, and detoxification of full body that makes them to be healthy and withdraw smoking habit.
In conclusion, smoking cannot discourage with help of legal activities also it should need to combined with others action . Such as, deaddiction centres and health awareness camps on public areas to encourage smokers to stop this unhealthy habits. In my opinion, smoking should be ban completely from public areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views by discussing restrictions in public places and alternatives such as awareness programmes and cessation centres, and your conclusion gives a clear preference for combining measures while banning smoking in public areas. The examples of hospitals and schools help make the first view relevant, while meditation and yoga illustrate possible support for smokers. However, the discussion of making smoking illegal is not fully distinguished from existing “No Smoking” rules, and the consequences or enforcement of a legal ban are not explained. The proposed awareness and treatment measures are relevant, but their effectiveness is asserted rather than supported in detail. Develop each view with a clearer explanation of how it would discourage smoking, then connect your opinion directly to that comparison.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the shift between arguments easy to follow, and examples are generally placed alongside the point they support. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, links within sentences are sometimes mechanical or unclear, as in “Although ‘No Smoking Zone’ displayed … still people smoke,” and the conclusion repeats the proposed measures without synthesising the discussion. Improve progression by making each paragraph’s main claim explicit, then use cause-and-effect links to explain how its examples support that claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “health awareness camps,” “negative impact,” “deaddiction centres,” and “withdraw smoking habit,” so the reader can identify the subject and your proposed solutions. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “secondary person,” although this is not a natural way to refer to people exposed to smoke. Overall, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read, for example “awaerness,” “guidlines,” “beinng affrad,” and “recreational programms.” Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling and natural combinations. Prefer precise expressions such as “second-hand smoke” and “smoking-cessation services.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession with “Although” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” These attempts show some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation often make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “people should teach about its negative impact” needs a passive construction, while “it increase risk” has an agreement error. The opening also contains an incomplete or malformed construction: “see smokers to smoking on public places.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check sentence boundaries and punctuation, especially where several ideas are joined.
