Student answer (Band 5.0)
Firstly ,in my point of view i beleive that in order to ban smoking another measures are needed, However i respect the idea of saying that it should consider illegel in public places. thats good though if the goal is to ban this will not work effectively. because if the governments consider this act as illegal we may still find people using at home or private placess as long as its accesible therefore, i would suggest banning importing cigreate or substances from the country atleast to reduce its accesibility.
Furthermore, To generate punishments incase anyone catches importing this acting or using public places, infact we all know that somking ciggrates has negative impacts on our health resulting lung cancer, i also beleive that health awarness will help to minimize its effects,
Beacuse some people don't know about how if effects on their health, and how human organs can get damged. in addition to that even though smoking has same effetcs on everyone and still there are some groups who are vulnurable than others such as, pregnant women, those with low immunity , and children.
smoking with preganacy can result Adverse effects in the uterus
causing premature ,low birth weight and sometimes abortion. therefore, parents needs to understand and stay guided. Apart from that during breasfeeding and parenting smoking nearby the children can still be harmfull as they could effect they entire growth. and resulting phenmonia.
eventually, Somking can be discourage by limiting its accesibility and generating funds and punishments if it finds anyone such this act

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that banning smoking in public places would not be sufficient, and you suggest additional measures such as restricting access and raising health awareness. The discussion of health risks, including effects on pregnant women and children, is relevant and provides some supporting detail. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the case for making smoking illegal in public places is only briefly acknowledged as “thats good”; its benefits, such as protecting others from second-hand smoke, are not explained. Some proposals, including banning imports and imposing punishments, are also asserted without explaining how practical or effective they would be. Develop both sides more evenly and make your position explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some paragraphing and a recognisable sequence: it introduces your position, adds possible measures, and then discusses health effects. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “in addition to that,” and “therefore” show an effort to connect ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because several points are crowded together, and the final paragraph does not clearly summarise the argument. Some connectors are used inaccurately or mechanically—for example, “Beacuse” begins a fragment, while “eventually” does not clearly signal a conclusion. Organise the essay around the two views, followed by your opinion, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point with clear links between its sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “accessibility,” “negative impacts,” “vulnerable,” and “premature,” and these choices help communicate your concerns about health and prevention. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or imprecise expressions make parts harder to understand, such as “somking,” “ciggrates,” and “generating funds and punishments.” Some combinations are not natural in this context, including “ban importing … from the country” and “if it finds anyone such this act.” Aim for accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for enforcement and public-health measures would help you express your ideas clearly and avoid repetition of “smoking” and “effects.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use clauses to explain consequences, for example, “even though smoking has same effetcs on everyone and still there are some groups…” This shows an effort to go beyond simple sentence patterns. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors can make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “in order to ban smoking another measures are needed,” “parents needs to understand,” and the fragment “Beacuse some people don't know about how if effects on their health.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several run-on constructions and abrupt fragments. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and clause links, then proofread punctuation.
